The Other Stage headliners

What's happened?

The other day the rumours page said:-

Fri - Primal Scream

Sat - Chem Bros

Sun - The Libertines

They've now been changed to 'Day TBC'

Why the change? I was reasonably happy with the way it was.

Emily is being cryptic as always on Twitter, I would actually like to see Coldplay, but would be doing so on my own if Chemical Brothers are on same time, so i tweeted her asking if Chems were on the Saturday, and she replied back "is that a guess?"...so god knows what that means!

You'd think so wouldn't you? Primal Scream sadly look like the least likely ones to be headlining there now.

So does that imply that one of the original 3 (Chems, Libs, PS) won't be paying the Other Stage at all? I'm sure they would all rate higher than Underworld in Festival Top Trumps.

I've just received some very solid info that - as had been posted here by someone a month or two back - the Other Stage headliners were planned to be Primal Scream, Chemical Brothers, and The Libertines. That was how things stood a few weeks ago.

However, we know from statements from Carl of The Libs that they haven't (or hadn't) accepted yet, so what the fest was planning to do might not be what happens.

I've also had that bit of info telling me that Underworld were headlining the Other Stage - which could be wrong of course, in light of the above. But it also might be that things have changed and they're now going to headline.

I believe it's the case that Beyonce was originally planned to play before Coldplay. If that's correct, then that slot now needs filling, and it makes sense to me that Primal might have been moved into that slot, which would free up a slot that Underworld could fill.

So anyway, I think it's more than possible that the Other Stage headliners are now Underworld, Chems, and Libs, with Primal having moved to before Coldplay. But for the moment, I'll be leaving all these bands listed for the Other Stage.

Screamadelica even. They'd probably get a better crowd performing before Coldplay than at the same time as U2 as well
