Newton Faulkner

Seen him at the Isle of Wight tyhink it was 2008 and suprisingly (for me anyway) he was really good, he had that rare something about him that really comunicated with the crowd between songs that really seemed to win people over and dismiss prejudices, shame about the bits inbetween the chat  (actually I did like those bits as well :P )

Saw him for free at Cambridge's Strawberry Fair in the beer tent a couple of years ago and he just seemed to be yet another crusty bloke who plays a guitar. I don't get the appeal myself, plenty more of them on the streets of any town playing for beer money!

I really quite like Newton Faulkner. His two albums are pretty good, he seems like a pretty humble guy and has a fair bit of stage presence and charisma. Dreadlocks on a white guy - especially ginger ones (a la Dick Hucknall) are obviously a criminal act (especially with a chin full of ginger pubes) but I'll forgive him that.

Caught most of his Avalon set last year and enjoyed it. Saw him on tour before that. Would definitely see him again.
