Cracking couple of sets in 2009. I'm seeing them in Shepherd's Bush in a couple of weeks; cracking love band. Always a big finish with Death too. Be great to see them back at Glasto. I'm worried that they'll have a 2nd from the top on The Other slot though.

That Pitchfork review is a load of self-congratulatory onanism. What an absolute load of tosh.

On a serious point he just doesn't engage in any review of the album and he obviously hates the band so why be the guy reviewing it?

If I had to review a Take That album I'd obviously want to give it a good slating but you are writing for fans and non-fans so you'd write it with references to their previous work and actually give the reader the notion of what to expect.

Just as there is very little point in reading the album reviews of fanboys there's no point in the 'reviews' of people who've made up their mind before they heard the music they're supposed to be writing about.

Couldn't agree more. The kind of thing that people like to post links to, so they don't have to type it themselves (see above). As I've said above, I loved the last album and am enjoying the current one. Very welcome at Glasto (and the vast majority of people who saw them cover The Boss in 2009 will say the same thing)

I agree. Fair enough if it was a review of the band themselves, or a piece on the. But it really didn't review the album.

(Aside, I very much want Amy Maconald at Glasto this year and to do her Boss cover -

)

Not listened to the new album yet, but really enjoying 'Bigger than us'. Expecting to like the new album. I don't imagine it will be much progression for them, but we shall see.

Met them in London On Monday..

Nice guys, they played a good few songs and the new album sounds pretty awesome :)

But it's the big hitters which make em big really, Death, To lose my life, farewell to the fairground, bigger than us etc..

but it sounds like a good album!

    • Hasn't Farage been fighting for 30 years for Britain to leave the world?
    • Lower league football has this more regularly, no? Quite often I'll see League 1/2 sides have signed a whole new 11 every summer.    Admittedly, changing the entire squad is different.
    • Oh yeah I'd forgotten about their mad scramble to get back from LA to Glastonbury. Though at least there you can blame multiple flight cancellations. I do agree though that it's fair to ask why you'd risk a similar sh*t show.
    • So who's got a good rain dance in the locker, then? Now we're in August the weather watchers can come out of hiding.    Already having flashbacks to last year (the dust cloud of doom at the crossroads by the Courtyard entrance).   Also got to be looking sketchy for the fire/fireworks on the Sunday. Might be a controversial opinion but wouldn't mind it - the fencing annoyance isn't worth the 10 mins of 'oooohhh, aaahhhh', plus the raining of hot embers last year!
