Do it. After the end of the first full day of my first Glasto I said to my mates that I would be more than happy going alone and they both agreed. It's the most easy going, accepting and non-judgemental atmosphere I think I've ever felt. Just wander, chat to people, share a drink/spliff/whatever and enjoy it.

There's threads that will pop up on here about meets of which there are usually a few. Also do a search for and read that one as it will tell you all you need to know about trying to get a load of eFesters in the same bit of Pennards to camp together.

You're never alone at Glasto unless you want to be. Just make friends with the people next to you. Offer them a coffee, help put up their tent or something. The whole joy of Glasto is sharing. I can think of few other places where you can just go up to complete strangers or all ages and and get chatting. Do it in the street and you'd be arrested but at Glasto it's natural.

do it...always preferred it on my own, to when's there a clingy girlfriend who'd afraid to lead my side, moaning all day, not really getting it, having to watch stuff i don't want, and go to bed early because she can't find her way back on her own.... a blessing in disguise..or maybe i just have shit girlfriends..

I am going this year on my own for the first time, I was a bit daunted to start with but after mentioning it on another post I had the offer to meet up with the efestivals crowd Wednesday evening at the cider bus. Really looking forward to it now, everybody is very friendly on this site and I am looking forward to making new friends and putting faces to the names. DO IT. :)

There is no way on God's Green Earth I'd take the other half. Luckily she ain't bothered so it's no issue, but I know I'd hate it if she were there. It would feel like the office party, where you have to mind your behaviour and can't just have a crack with your mates.

I've not got the wrong woman. We love each other deeply, have 2 beautiful kids and have had 10 great years together. We have some common interests, but respect that we also have individual interests and let each other do there own thing (babysitting willing).

Claire is piss poor at meeting new people. She gets very nervous and clingy for some reason. She also hates camping, roughing it generally and being without her creature comforts. For these reasons, she'd spoil my Glasto and would be the first to admit it. It's therefore part of my lad time.

Please don't think I was suggesting you've got the wrong woman - any more than I was suggesting that Mrs Grumpyhack is wrong for me.

A woman who spends her time on ticket day trying to get through for you and who happily waves you off to Glasto to have a week away with your mates is far from the wrong woman.

I'll be riding solo this year as well, nobody I know (including my parents) got tickets this year. I'd be a bit frightened of doing it if it wasn't such a friendly place.
