some nice electronica/house additions to the dance stage, would expect there to be a whole host of dnb and dubstep to be added later as usual, and house of pain on the main stage - excellent. frankie & the h's worth a listen and frank turners always good!

pretty good additions i'd say, just annoyed there were so few haha

Pretty happy with this announcement. House of Pain & Easy Star All Stars will be immense on the main stage. Herve and Ash Howell in the glow tent will also be amazing! Just hope there are a few more DnB/Dubstep acts announced as RBranigan says...

Well no Glasvegas or Example - are they still to be added, do we think, or was that just a false rumour? I gotta admit that there's nothing on this latest lineup list that makes me go 'Wow, that's brilliant!', there's a couple that I'd amble along to out of curiosity - Frank Turner, for example, but, as Ramragon says, there's nothing there that's already in our quite large cd/mp3 collection ... But then, we often buy music as a result of seeing bands at festivals, so who knows! ;) Roll on the next announcement! :P

Screw the moaners...its gonna be awesome!!! Just been listening to Dinosaur Pile Up and the Virgin Marys....both sound fantastic. People need to be realistic about what £120 split over 3 days and god knows how many stages is gonna get them...I'm well happy...

Check these out...this is gonna be a GREAT set!

Er FlamingLippy, it's £95, not £120  I'm wondering what people really expected - compared festivals in a similar price and capacity bracket Kendal is doing a damn fine job IMHO and I'm glad I bought my ticket early.

My favourite discovery form todays listening is The Wagon Tales in the Kaylied tent Sunday evening. The saxophonist from Dizzee Rascal, trumpeter from Madness, fiddler for Susan Boyle (that was odd to type) and a few others it sounds fantastic. A great mix and plenty more to discover B)

Ok, so I having second thoughts and not sure what to do!! I was supposed to be coming with my two kids (7 + 2), and my sister was also coming with her partner, but not they are short of money so are not coming. They are giving me a lift there and back but obviously won't be able to come on site to help me get sorted etc. So I'll be there on my own with 2 children, having to put tent up and down myself, etc, and I'm just not sure whether to still come or not, really can't decide. Anybody have any advice? I have booked Thursday camping because I thought that would be easier with the kids.

Hum, yes, Mr PC is now not so keen, having been told by several people at Bearded Theory that Kendal Calling is, in fact, Chav City  However, we've put down our deposit and we don't really want to lose that. My thoughts are that we'll just have to suck it and see - if it really is unbearable, we can always go off and explore the Lake District! ;) I'm just hoping that there'll be some promising band announcements soon!

(btw we'll be there Thursday, so if we see you, lilbabyadam, we'll give you a hand with your tent! In fact, at festivals there's always going to be some friendly people around, who'll happily help you with things like that!)

The Facebook page says there are only 200 tickets left so in the event you decide not to go I'm sure it would be easy to shift your tickets on ebay or preferably scarlet mist.

I'm hoping for some good band announcements soon too, fed up with this dubstep lark that everyone keeps going on about!

It's my 4th year at Kendal and, whilst I wouldn't say exactly chavvy, it has attracted a younger more boisterous crowd who get shit faced, boardering on out of control and uncaring of how their behaviour is spoiling the festival for others.

Yeah...only downer about last year. Reckon it'll be the same this year, but hopefully they'll all sod off after the Friday!

So glad I've got my tickets :D One by one I've been going through the bands on the Calling Out stage and there's some absolute gold in there - Airship, Dinosaur Pile Up, Chapman Family to name a few - and Sonic Boom Six which surprised me as it's not normally my thing, well, ever.

Erm, are we on the same forum?!

    • Lost my love of football years ago so I pay very little attention to it these days but I'm really enjoying Max Rushden's video diaries of his flat share with Barry Glenddening. I think Barry might kill him before the end of the tournament
