if perception is subjective, so then must be reality. But if two people share the same experience from vastly different perspectives - what then?

If two people perceive the same experience differently?

We all know people percieve some things differently...

I probably misunderstood that's what I get for being playfully thought-provoking

I was just thinking how the younger/older participants would perceive their versions of reality. Then there's those looking on, both young and old, and their value judgments.

One event, so many realities.

I dont think it is an age/number thing, with age comes life experience and self awareness. And everyone is different. Age Shmage!! makes no difference. Compatibility is the key...

In an ideal world, I'd agree. But there'd be lots of pressures from the people around you.

Especially family. I'd imagine it'd be difficult for a much older partner to meet the family of the younger one.

Especially if they are older than the parents of their partner.

oh totally, good point well made. I know that scenario from personal experience, But they are external factors. I guess age difference can create awkward situations like that. but if compatible that shouldnt matter too much. Family, although important, should not be a major part in a relationship. I think anyway.

Why is it that as soon as someone is in a break up and then decide they want to see their mates that they have spent ages ignoring you're not allowed to give them shit over it?

Cos they need a support network now their beloved has left them :P Because they didn't mean to ignore it /got caught up in the whole relationship thing etc.

I am with you there, they've got to earn that right to be given a shit about back (but they will do the exact same thing the next time a beloved is on the scene.)

I meant shit as in "give them shit" or ball breaking rather than caring, you are forced to be sympathetic and can't make mention anything negative etc because they are heart broken.

I can't stand people like that, I've been with my girlfriend for over a year yet I still manage to go out drinking with my friends.

You'll need to get Neil to delete the posts but you can just edit it them instead but if someone quoted you then it's stuck.

It's good to see you back, reminds me of the good ol' fun days of this thread of calling Ampersand & Pogo gay lovers and petty arguements.

Thanks. Went through editing posts but got bored. now just to sort out my -35 rep...ah well everyone has to be young and naive at some point right? haha

I used to spend hours on here!

What's the latest goss?

Thank you. You've just helped me make a decision. I've been ignoring my friends because of a new'ish relationship. My mates are all going out this Saturday and I have now decided I am too.

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
