Given Liam's apparent dislike of the festival it may seem unlikely however he's savvy enough to realise that if he wants his new band to be successful it's going to need exposure to the festival crowds.

New album is due next year so the timing is in place.

It would remain to be seen whether they would be happy to accept a lower slot.

I guess that depends on the bands popularity, album sales, critical reaction etc....

I could see them being maybe 2nd or 3rd on the Other or perhaps headlining the JP.

Thoughts??

Can't see why not. Although I reckon a 2nd top or top on the John Peel would be good...but like you say its whether Liams ego would accept that.

I agree they were terrible in 2004.

I think Liam is on record saying they only did it for the money and in 2004 Oasis were drifting by then and had lost most of their drive and spark.

He has a lot to prove with this new band though, the majority of people would love him to fall flat on his face and although he's still got the flair for a stupid quote now and again he does seem to have grown up a bit and i think (hope)he would take a Glastonbury slot with the respect it deserves if the Eavis' book them.

I think Liams clever enough to realise his band wouldn't headline at this stage. I can see them playing for sure. A spot on the John Peel as mentioned on here 2 or 3 off the headliner would be suitable, they would still prove a big draw make no doubt about it. New single sounds good.

It sounds like Status Quo but without the lyrical dexterity.

This reminds me of when I heard the Kings of Leon single Radioactive. I remember thinking 'this isn't TOO bad' but then when you realise that is the best song on a 12-track album the rest of it must be horrendous.

So it proved with Come Around Sundown and I'm pretty sure Beady Eye will be the same.

That single is f**king horse shit, I can only see the rest of the album being the same.

Noel was the talent in that band, the leader and main songwriting force... He's gone... their f**ked.

Noel will grow old gracefully with a couple of nice solo albums and some decent mid-to-large sized venue tours (a la Robert Plant), Liam will grow old embarrassingly, his records will flop and he'll become a bad caricature of his former self even more so than he is now (a la John Lydon or something)

I think having Beady Eye on would be good

They would defiantly get a good crowd

Alot of people wouldnt give them the time of day

Been reading these forums for a long time, just thought id sign up.

I personally think Beady Eye would be good for an evening slot on one of the stages. Get people(who like them) in a good vibrant mood ready for the headline sets, whoever that may be (Coldplay hopefully)
