Musically I'd say you were about right, but Jarvis has become a bit of a national treasure (all the more amusing cos he lives in France ) off the back of his Michael Jackson thing along with his general character.

A lot of parallels between Blur and Pulp really - let's not forget Blur also went into a bit of a dip after their main left-field creative force left (Coxon, Senior) and subsequent albums were never as popular (We Love Life, Think Tank). For my money Blur's Glasto performance last year totally blew away the time I saw them in 1997 when they may have filled the NEC, but they were clearly bored of it all.

By comparison, my two Pulp experiences (Que Club and NEC) still rank among my favourite gigs of all time, and if they're going to the effort of re-forming then I would expect them to be as tight as they once were.

Let's also not forget it was Glastonbury that propelled them into the big league when they stepped in for the Stone Roses. I'd like to see them headline the Other Stage to give some competition to the anodyne U2-fest that the Pyramid will offer.

Yeah I am starting to think it end up being half full of chavs who would much rather see a pop or rap artist but are going anyway to have a right moan.

Its defo a festival much like HRC that you go cos a band you quite like is playing for me and so i don't get how people can moan about the artists .

Is anyone else going to xfm's winter wonderland? The London leg has a 'special secret guest' which they let slip last week was a big Brit pop act...I assumed suede bit now their websites made a big deal about the reunion (bigger than the libertines and blur's I seem to remember)...

I'm probably putting two and two together and getting ten but is it possible?

Argh in so excited! They have to be at glasto!!

    • The first half of that game was cracking but then I fell asleep at half time. Maybe that's just the momentum of things.

    • A win is a win but it was a very poor game with only 4 shots on target in the whole game. Scotland obviously handed a massive bonus with Brazil and Morocco drawing but I don't think either of them will be too worried.
    • Word of advice, your work-life energy balance should be 60% energy for work and 40% energy for life. If you're drained after a day's work, that is something you should strongly look into. Especially if it is solely due to work.
