This is the first time the full Pulp line up has played together since 1996, so many people (myself included) would never have got to see the original line up so I think this makes it pretty special.

Interesting, Blur, when they were together never really seemed that huge to me, when I think of going to see them, at various points during their career, I think I never saw them anywhere bigger than say Brixton academy (release of the 4th album or so)

So, yeah, bit of nostalgia, I can see them headlining, or, I think more realistically, second from top if the headliner is a really big name.

If the facebook page and previous lineups are any indication, the crowd is going to be awful at Wireless. I wonder why they are playing Wireless, of all festivals. It is definitely not the sort of headliner they usually get (Pink, anyone?).

I was thinking Sunday as it tends to be the nostalgia slot and traditionally the biggest band normally headlines Saturday. Of course that's a bit different this year with U2 on Friday

Can't believe so many doubting their ability to headline!!! They weren't only Oasis and Blur around. And to the clown who said one song, I think you'll find they had a few more than Common People. I saw them in '95 there and they only filled in at the last for The Stone Roses, and were nowhere near top choice replacement. Common People hadn't long been out and virtually everyone only knew that, and were blown away. Of any reforming 90's bands it's gotta be Pulp. People saying they are only big enough to headline the second stage are talking out their arse. And with RussellSenior back in the frame, it will be a diamond night.

Absolutely, this whole reforming business is probably got a hell of a lot to do with Glasto, they wouldn't reform to do a short set there.

There is some idiocy in this thread. A fully reunited Pulp not big enough to headline? A band with only one song? Dear god.

If we can take it that Pulp will play (and I can!), this announcement shits on any other announcement still to come.

    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
