Forecasts this morning looking drier than they have for a while, risk of some showers/rain tomorrow, and risk of showers for the remainder but doesn't look will amount to much. Also warm/hot weather arrives saturday night or sunday - up until then will be quite cool.

My positive assessment of all this is that the bad weather is departing sooner than expected, with good weather to follow accordingly. I'll be delighted, but not surprised to see the forecast for the weekend steadily improve, with sunshine and decent temps arriving on Friday/Saturday.

quick shower of drizzle in Pilton and the sun is now breaking through. It's looking quite bright but there is a large and suspicious black cloud lurking to the west. Word for the day is currently moist.

Just watched the BBC weather on News 24. Completely dry all day today with all the rain pushed into Wales overnight. Due to be some showers tomorrow morning but after midday it all looks clear.

If that forecast is correct we're not going to need wellies, guys and girls.

Taking them anyway, oh Rain God.

It's been peeing down here in Gloucester all night. I woke up a little depressed, but now the news from Glastonbury is mostly sun, I'm happy with that. I have wellies, and booze, and a poncho.

The GFS and ECM models are looking increasingly better for the weekend, high pressure pushing in from the continent and the weather systems missing to the west.

Temps are now looking hot - 21 Sat and 24 Sun, Friday is looking cooler - we'll get a little wear out of the wellies Wed and Thurs, so no waster investment there.

But to the doubters out there - mud cannot survive at 21C

Sounds to me like 08 conditions, which I'd been saying/hoping for ever since the rain was forecast. Not perfect by all means, but mudbath veterans should be pleased with what looks set to happen.

Sorry, but I only do reality. ;)

The conditions only affect your enjoyment if you allow them to. Go prepared for and thinking the worst and things will turn out better than you feared. :)

    • Considering how popular of a booking Scooter have been I think they'd go down well
    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
