I've been quite happy while lurking on this thread for the past two or three weeks to just go along with the credibility bashing of any forecast which doesn't predict scorchio, but i'm starting to become more and more pessimistic. Still NFRNFC

Why is this Met Office forecast such bad news? Although it suggests that there may well be showers/rain at times, it also suggests will be far from dominant and their will be sunny spells too. The weather in Somerset often reflects the weather in the South East much more than the weather in the West of the country..

Sacrifice time.

Just bought a waterproof tarp (packing 2 in total). Myself and the Mrs are both taking 2 x Waterproof coats each, Boots (with gaiters) AND Wellies, I myself have 2 x Waterproof pants (a light-weight pair and a really bulky heavy pair of army surplus ones), crucially I am NOT taking a sun hat or sunglasses (I'm also learning German).

Only a small sacrifice, but they all add up. Right?

I'm revising my german. Will this help? "Wenn es regnet fahre ich mit dem monorail" ok, this is my first glasto, but I've been reliably informed that it is a good way of travel when it rains, no?

I apologise, I've hit the port in desperation to rid myself of this cold, it's making me laugh at things that clearly aren't funny.

Too right, I don't even own any wellies let alone a poncho or waterproof trousers - that's how confident I am in the hot sun coming through!

(heads off to Millets website for a quick look just in case..)

just seen this on BBC weaather forecast

Monday 20 June 2011 to Sunday 26 June 2011

Wimbledon starts: new weather, please?

There's little sign of a spell of warm, sunny weather to take the nation through one of the premier, sporting events of the summer. Low pressure will again lie close by to the British Isles, with the wettest and windiest spells of weather to be found across the north and west.

Temperatures will not warrant postcards home, falling below par in southern England, south Wales, southwest Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Sunshine amounts will suffer as unseasonable, wetter spells take precedence across southwest Britain and the Midlands.

Have we all crashed Metcheck? I keep trying to get on it but get this message:-

"The request cannot be processed at this time. The amount of traffic exceeds the Web site's configured capacity."

    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.

    • I don't think I'm alone as a Scotland fan that there is no way that I could possibly fall asleep knowing we're about to play our first World Cup game in 28 years! Pure adrenaline is keeping me wide awake (and plenty of rum)!
    • Trying to stay awake for the footy so it’s just the easy option of a battery😊😉
