I can see that there are major flaws in the See Tickets system and I was cursing them to hell while I couldn't get through but the ranting that has been going on is completely out of proportion and quite ridiculous. I wonder what the thought process is ... ooh I know, if I call Michael Eavis a c**t, he'll phone me up and give me a VIP pass ???

I do hope though that all those who were unlucky this morning but still congratulated the people who did get through manage to get lucky in any eventual resales.

I didn't get one despite hammering F5 from 0855 to 1330. I wouldn't wish ill on any of you lucky (and slightly sanctimonious) buggers who did.

I hope the ticket I didn't get went to a newbie who will love having theirs eyes opened to Glasto in the way I did this year.

Its a lottery ultimately and that's probably the fairest way to distribute tickets when demand exceeds supply.

I suspect many of these comments were made in the heat of the moment, not that that excuses them, by people who were as gutted as I am.

Fingers crossed for the resale.

99% of the people in this thread would become abusive and angry if they couldn't get a ticket but obviously they wouldn't admit openly admit it.

I could honestly see myself kicking the dog or giving the wife a black eye if I didn't get one but luckily for her I did.

I'm with red eye and scarey fairy, I missed out this morning despite have two browsers with multiple tabs continually refreshing plus a mobile and landline constantly dialling. If I don't get a ticket in the resales it will be my first miss since 1999.

I've been thinking maybe it's karma, I've had my years now it's someone else's turn to experience the magic.

I just hope my ticket didn't go to someone who's only going for U2 <_<

I noticed there was a lot of rage on the facebook site too. However, there was also love! A random fellow festival fan got my ticket for me - obviously it was a bit of a trust issue on both sides as you have to hand over your bank details to a stranger (although we used my friend's 'spare' account that only has about £150 in it anyway), but I think you can get a reasonable feel of someone from their FB page. She got me the tickets (at about 12:50!) and I've got my confirmation email - YAY! I had been up and trying since 8:30 (phones and internet and iphone) to no avail, but only making nice, sensible comments on the page attracted someone to help me. Some others were like 'oh, can someone get me tickets if they get through' but they had also posted a lot of venomous crap, so I doubt anyone would want to help them.

I would be totally gutted if I didn't get tickets (as I thought I wasn't going to). And sometimes you're just unlucky, whatever your attitude. But being friendly and positive is more likely to get you what you want!

Keep a close eye on the seetickets page over the next couple of weeks...the duplicates will pop back up for a short time (if every other year is a guide)...there's links around here to page-watching addons for firefox that'll let you know if the page gets updated (given the hassle niblet had last year I doubt he'll be offering this service this year!)...I've managed to get tickets for folk at every stage over the years (first sale, duplicates sale, resale and final cancellations sale)...Hope it works out for you! :)

At least you know that when you go, it won't be full of those kinds of people :)

I didn't get tickets after refreshing for 4 hours straight but I don't think there's any need to be so abusive aha xD

Just fingers crossed I can get some in the resales D: I'll be devastated if i don't. This would have been my first Glastonbury and i wanted to go before i pack up and go off to uni! :'(

As time went on this morning, the posts on Glastnbury's Facebook page seemed to get more and more abusive, with some totally unecessary language and offensive comments.

When it was announced tickets were sold out, I was surprised to see that there were some terrible insults and threats posted about seetickets and even directed towards Michael Eavis personally. Plus the number of people who wished ill luck on those who got tickets - some of whom were joking and others obviously weren't.

Don't get me wrong, I would be gutted if I didn't get a ticket, and luckily for me someone else managed to get mine. However, I think it is realised by most people that although the website struggled with demand, it is ultimately a game of luck and patience.

Personally, judging from a large proportion of comments on Glastonbury's FB, I feel relieved that those posting abusive messages didn't get through as that to me, is not what Glastonbury is about.

And I definitely wouldn't like to spend five days having such lovely folk camped next to me!

Anyone else seen these kind of comments and found themselves surprised/ disgusted/ thankful?

Last year was my first Glastonbury and I felt like I barely scratched the surface of the whole place. Was hoping next year I'd manage to see properly what it was all about having made the mistake of the main stages all the time :(

Which firefox extension would people recommend for seetickets watching?

I tried Chrome but it just seemed to encounter the same issues.

I think you may have misread my question. Someone suggested there was a firefox extension that would "watch" the ticket page and inform if there was any chance in the source code.
