I don't have an issue with Neil, just all the adverts.... the site failed today, so the only way to make it work is yet more adverts, which will make it even slower.. shame as it was a good site... and friendly.. till admin got a bit sensitive and just can't admit that maybe the sure struggled.. yeah I would pay to be advert free.. but if I had , I still wouldn't of got access like many other gold members...

I know what you're saying mrfunk and it's probably been said before but surely Neil is in a bit of a catch22 situation on ticket day. He needs the clicks to gain the advert revenue but too many clicks means the website is broke. Adverts aside if they don't slow up things, so is it a case of not wanting or able to lay out extra cash for expensive server equipment on ticket day?

You don't seem to be listening. It has been said on the first page that the systems the adverts are hosted on are on external servers with MASSIVE capacity which are quite able to handle insane amounts of traffic. The performance of this forum during glasto ticket day would be no different if the adverts were not here.

And as for the slow performance, deal with it... This site runs perfectly 99.99% of the rest of the time and I commend Neil on a job well done and so should you...

Also, seetickets and the the glasto website itself suffer greatly during glasto ticket sales times but what are they supposed to do? They already have adequate capacity for the most part, it's unefficient and uneconomical to spend a shitload of money to make these services able to cope with this amount of traffic for just one day of the year and have a massive redundancy the rest of the time.

Basically, stop being a whinging little c**t, grow up and have some f**king respect for services that are being provided for you for free.

yet again you rise to abuse shame.. you obviously failed to recognise how I created a system on here , a while back.which helped hundreds and hundreds get tickets..as the site struggled that year, but back plan came into place.. like today.!!! Purchased 30+tickets today..our system worked. And we want to tell others, of our method.but why help people if they call you c**t? ......sorry my frustration.. causes such insult.. why can't a temporary solution be found..? Your no longer a friendly bunch are you...! Used to be fun on here...

We did.. but I think you have missed my point. We wanted to help people on here.. but then again why help people if they can't help themselves ! And looking like youve turned into a right click . Who can't follow simple advice.. what's the point. Just feel for the people who we could of helped. Who didn't get tickets.. the method was bomb proof .... and worked!

I did for everyone ! Last night.. in the backdoor links post...... fully tested and working.....! But the method needed sharing as there was more to it than just a link.. pointless now as you all want spoon feeding.. just start learning like I did. Best not to give everything away.. we could of bought hundreds of tickets today . NOT using the" once your in click here for more tickets" .. about time some of you put some effort in..! And stop your insults..use your negative energy a mote positive way..! Which might help others not just your selfish selves.....

I helped other users on here get tickets after we got ours, is that selfish? Plenty of people got tickets through other users on here, are they selfish?

I'm sure you're perfectly nice but in this thread you are coming across as a bit of a dick.

If you run a big site, surely it's easy to make money from it?

it's much easier for you to think thazst's the case than for it to happen.

Virtual Festivals seems to do well

:lol::lol:

It's sacked staff due to financial problems.

It's been financially bailed out at least twice.

And it's recently been 'sold' (probably for nothing or almost nothing) because it failed as a business by the person who was running it.

Makes you wonder what the profits being spent on... crashed 4 years running.. maybe its time for efestivals to spend some money-back

This site hasn't crashed on ticket day for years.

This site does has capacity problems on ticket day - because the 15% or so of company turnover that's spent on servers (the biggest expense by a long way, aside from staff ... do you work for free?) still isn't enough to meet demand.

For the company to spend money it has to first make it - something you try to do the opposite of and encourage others to do to.

my point was you dick, that Neil justified the use of all these adverts to run the site.. you would think that there was enough revenue to support the site on a day like today, but yet again it failed... so why do we need to have all these adverts? as other forums dont...

Again, you just get to show you don't have the first f**king idea, and that you'll spout endless ignorant twaddle.

A whole year's turnover spent exclusively on servers still wouldn't give enough capacity on days like Glasto ticket day.

1. the site didn't fail today.

2. the adverts have zero effect on this site's performance as you've been told many time before.

3. "many other gold members"?:lol: ... you mean the total of six of them? Is six "many"?:lol: ... and while I#'ve no idea if they used this site on Sunday, not do you. But none have complained. They're smart enough to know that what they get is the forums advert-free, not a 100% guarantee of accessibility.

You're talking ignorant bollcks, and posting blatant lies. You really are a very sad f**ker.

I could be five+ grand better off if I thought "the site runs well the rest of the time, I won't bother with extra capacity for ticket day".

The simple fact is that capacity is already much greater than it needs to be for all days except two each year.

I dare you to call me C$^t to my face !! see you at the bus....

I will do, because you're being a c**t.

your system? Oh do f**k off. Your system could not have been anything better than buying more tickets once you'd bought the first lot. That's all there was this year, and everyone else did it too.

And all any such 'help' would have done was got some people tickets and made others lose out - so ultimately to no advantage overall.

FFS.

It seems the people who do the homework get tickets.. simple.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

What you said was said by hundreds of others, and to no effect for many (including me).

It cut out one page, a page that the vast majority got past anyway. Whether anyone got further then depended on See, and not anything you suggested.

But you also included within bad technical info, and made a suggestion which LESSENED and not increased people's chances. It would help if you had the first idea of what you were talking about. Yet again.

So.. what. Like I care what you think. Thats what makes the world an interesting place...

anyway like i said do some homework... and find a way of gently suggesting improvments to this site on tday, that will benefit everyone and wont upset the "£$% in charge B)

If YOU did some homework then perhaps you'd be able to make genuine suggestions for improvements, instead of posting ignorant know-nothing bollox that would have made no difference at all.

For a site that wasn't working yesterday morning  there was still the most users online

Yep, about 1,000 more than the site had managed at anytime in the past, despite it still being run on the exact same hardware.

Now, did that happen by accident? Or did that 30% increase in the number of users this site supported yesterday happen because someone (not funk) does know what they're talking about and had put real and effective things in place to improve site performance?:lol:
