Just read a few post festival reports and dispite extra securty measures, banning booze etc etc, the tent burnng crazies mananaged to cause chaos again, coupled with the childish behaviour from GnR, so glad I choose to go to a festival full of 'Yirts' where I dont get my booze banned and bands play on time (well N.E.R.D excepted)

Reading was amazing. Especially sunday!! The only problem is that they don't have a crowd break barrier at the main stage, which i think is very dangerous. Especially as when down the front the security were pushing people at the front to get them away from the barrier, they were announcing on the speakers that everyone needs to take steps back but when people did that down the front the crowd would just surge and push people even harder..

i'm gona write a letter to reading lol

This year, extra police and security personnel were put on patrol and there was a ban on lighting fires after 8pm.

There was also an alcohol ban which meant people couldn't bring any booze through the gates after 6pm.

no fires after 8pm? That's kinda lame, only time we have fires are early morning back at camp

I got given a VIP pass for Sunday at Reading and thought why the hell not, I havent been in 16 years and may as well check it out as the train ticket was cheap.

I am not going to get into a snobbery thing cos its pointless. As discussed with my Efesty chums together late on the Sunday, I personally would never part with vast amounts of money for what is essentially a large concert in a very boring and soulless field BUT I along with some of those with me, we are festival people who go to festivals for everything that is offered hence why Glastonbury, Beautiful Days, Bestival etc are the order of the day usually.

Reading, Leeds, V, T...they do what they do, a lot of music, in one place and you get what you put in and what is supplied to the punter I suppose. I got insanely bored in the few hours I was at Reading but I am not a massive music fan. I go to Glastonbury and never see more than probably 15 acts throughout the entire weekend as I'm too busy bimbling around the fields and randomness.

I DID though appreciate the decent loos. The food selection wasnt too bad and I wasnt there long enough to go investigating the campsites.

The different styles of festivals just cannot be compared one jot. Glastonbury is the whole eye opening, brain melting, mind expanding experience. Reading, Leeds, V, T = stages all close to each other offering a decent selection of music all within easy walking distance of each other and similar line ups across the country throughout the summer. If you love music and not walking far go to these fests. If you want to experience what a British music and arts festival is truly about (whilst also getting a decent workout!), go to Glastonbury or one of the hundreds of other festivals that offer more than an arena, some food stalls and loos.

NO need to fight, be snobby or idiotic.

I really enjoyed T though (my first arena festival since 1997!)

I'm glad Reading sounded alot calmer this year. There was a bit of bother at Leeds but just the usual pish, a few dicks burning tents. Of course I'd be happier if there was no dickery at all but sadly I can't see how you can persuade these dicks to behave.

Hopefully the behaviour will improve next year as well as Reading and Leeds are both great festivals at what they do.
