Any way to avoid the sniffers?

Hi there. I'd love to take the train to reading, as it'd mean I could probably pick up some weed and pills beforehand, rather than having to buy on site...

Only problem is, I've heard there were sniffer dogs last year at the station? Is there any way to get from London -> Reading while avoiding them? I wouldn't mind taking a cab for the last stretch, if it was only a short, cheap one..

Not really. If you were coming from the west there are a couple of stations within a short cab ride/20 min walk of the festival but on the Paddington train there is no stop that side within Reading and on the slow Waterloo line any stop before Reading would need a cab through the town and wouldn't be short or cheap.

I'm not sure where the sniffer dogs were/will be at the station. If you come off the platfroms and turn right you get to the main concourse (which is where I imagine they are), but if you turn left there's a smaller ticket gate that gives you access to the car park, so you could try that way out I suppose.

Get off at Tilehurst then get the bus/taxi to the festival, they'll be sniffer dogs at Reading station so i wouldn't take the risk.

I got through fine last year at the main station.

There was only a few dogs and hundreds of festival-goers. Just keep your eyes peeled and try to avoid them and you should be fine.

Try to look calm and non-suspicious if you can as well.

smell proof bags will reduce the risk but be careful to not to touch the outside of the bag after handling the "goods" as this is what the dogs pick up on. if your realllllllly worried about it, wrap the "goods" in a normal baggy, then in a smell proof baggy and then another smell proof and then once there all sealed, put them in a solution that's 90% water 10% bleach for a few minutes and this will kill off any lingering smells.

The police do look at these boards - it's a fairly obvious thing to do if you're trying to anticipate any likely problems with a forthcoming festival.

If you come up with a plan for avoiding Reading Station by discussing it on these boards, you might find you've shot yourself in the foot.

tilehurst is still a bit of a trek to the festival, but u can just take a bus or something I suppose, that or I reckon the smellproof baggies idea sounds pretty foolproof.

I came up from Bristol on the train for the Sunday last year, didnt see any dogs at the station at all (12.30pm)

I'm arriving at 10.45 on the Saturday this year, are they likely to be around at this time??

I'm coming on the train from Worcester area, will there be a stop on the way which i can get off at and then get a taxi to the festival?

so am i.

I've trained it in loads of times and never had any trouble, just double wrap it. A lot of "sniffer dogs" aren't trainded drug dogs, they are used just to scare people...they use bomb dogs (dogs that sniff out bombs....not dogs that blow up!)
