Says you.

Errrrrrrrm, overlooking what I've just said a bit. Look at where we were before the last five games. Look at how the last five games have cleared the lane for a clear run towards the finish line. We're going to be acruing loads of points in the last seven games, while the rest of the league have to play the elite.

That means lots of + in our goal difference tally.

p.s. Wellbeck's back for the Liverpool game and Cattermole and Turner should be back for the April run in. We've been playing with one striker and no spine since January, remember.

You have to play the bottom teams - the teams you've done poorly against already, and who are all now playing their best footie of the season.

But I reckon you won't finish above 8th tho. And 11th is far from impossible.

Anyway, we'll see. :)

Yeah hes really taking them on now. Even Micky Phelen isn’t allowed to talk to the press. Its an interesting case and potentially a watershed moment in English football. They’ve done it in Spain and Italy for years. AC Milan and Real Madrid in particular. “You write something bad about us, and you don’t get access”.

just a reminder of what I did say....

Chelsea, Arsenal, Utd, City, Spurs, Newc, Villa, Liverpool, and Everton - all of these teams will finish above Sunderland, apart from perhaps Newc (due to Prem inexperience rather than worse players, if Sunderland finish above them).

.... tho I'm rather disappointed to see that I didn't include Bolton and Fulham in that list. I'd been recently thinking that I did, but I guess I wasn't wanting to stretch the prediction cos S'land were doing very well at that time.

Of the teams I did name, the only one I don't have a huge amount of confidence in finishing above S'land (aside from Newc, which I said at that time) at this moment is Villa, but I don't even rule that one out - they've got easily good enough players, it's just that they're mostly playing shite as a team.

Just been reminded of Suarez's snidey hair pull on Rafael/ Fabio when he was trying to usher him away from one of the confrontations

Ace stuff, I would love him if he didn't play for those coonts, the horrific cheat

Haha, that'd be perfect mate ;)

What's the general feeling around your club at the moment? Seems to be fairly doom and gloom, despite your league position isn't actually THAT bad?

I hope one of the media organisations complains. Until they do the FA can't do anything. I've said a good while ago now that the reason Wenger gets a lot of stick for some of the comments he makes (and often rightly so) is that he's willing to answer pretty much whatever questions he's asked. For a long time now Fergie has used his power to allow him to only speak about the subjects that he wants. I get your point regarding Real and AC, just hope our media has the balls not to let that happen.

I lost any faith a long, long time ago

as Strummer says, we'll beat Utd before losing to all and sundry.

Finishing above Sunderland is 50/50 I reckon 10/90 LFC

You have the odd season where you hover around the bottom for a bit, before hauling yourself up to finish in a decent-ish spot. This looks like being one of those - particularly as climbing the table is much easier this season than it's been in others in recent-ish years.

To me, your goal difference says you'll finish above S'land - it's usual for the league positions to be pretty much the same as a sorted-by-goal-difference table. The team that looks to me to be the most likely to finish better than their goal difference suggests is Villa, tho they're so flakey right now that perhaps they won't do.

Once the run in from hell is over we'll be back after sixth place. Unless Liverpol f**k us over, then my attentions will return to the important matter of getting rid of Bruce.

glad to see that the Newc disease affects all of that "hotbed of football" and not just its biggest team.:lol::lol::lol:

Wherever you finish this season - and 8th is defo the best you'll get - it will be your best season in both recent and near-future years.

He's f**king rubbish!

Well, 8th isn't 'defo' the best place, and if we do finish 8th then it'll be our third best in recent seasons.

he's rubbish but you're heading for your best finish in years, despite having to sell off one of your best players cos the money doesn't add up.... and more to be sold off in the summer.

Just like any Newc fan you don't know when you're well off.

PMSL. :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
