Messi; 17 goals in 14 games so far this season, 34 in 35 last season in La Liga. 6 in 6 so far in Champs League, 8 in 12 last year. 47 in 53 last season in total, 27 in 24 so far this season.

Ronaldo; 17 in 16 this year, 26 in 29 last. 33 in 35 total last year, 25 in 25 so far this season.

Just saying.

The deal for the under19 captain of France, Forana, has fell through, Houllier said today that his wage demands were too high for a youth player, it would be way higher than the youth players at the club already and would cause unrest in the squad, which I agree with. Guy shouldn't be so greedy, wonder what he was asking for?

Well Houllier just said that he wanted money that was a lot more than the rest of the youth players at Villa, im guessing the players who have all just resigned to senior contracts. They have a structure and they should stick with it. Its fair enough, obviosuly we don't want to get in trouble money wise

Highlght of 2010 - Barca 5 real madrid 0, Spain worthy world champions.

Lowlight of 2010 - Almost every wrexham or wales game

Quote of 2010 - Not one of their players would get into englands first 11 (townsend on germany)

- He can do anything that Messi can do (Gerrard on joe cole)

Best player of 2010 - Messi

Looking forward to that, huge game. You boys are looking good, RVP back is massive if he stays fit.

On another note, did anyone else see the Nevillers last game for Utd (probably) the other day? Hes totally finished, 10 yards off the pace.

He was no better in (I think?) his previous outing - where he got subbed at around half-time, again when he should have had a red if I'm remembering rightly. But yeah, defo finished.

Despite Utd still playing generally shit, they're still unbeaten and top of the league. I can't work out if that's the biggest fluke going, or mightily impressive. From most angles it's looking like they're going to win it again.

But there's one angle that says perhaps not. I saw on some TV programme in the last couple of weeks that on 7 of the 8 occasions where Arsenal have been 2nd in the league at xmas under Wenger they've ended up winning (I'm presuming what I saw said was correct, tho I've not checked it).

Given that Arsenal seem to be improving as this season progresses along with that stat, this might just be their year. Then again, I can't see Utd getting any worse than they've been playing (tho I guess they're likely to lose sooner or later), and they're likely to get better (cos Rooney & others surely won't be shit all season), so if I was to bet I'd defo go with Utd right now.

On another matter, I'm wondering what commitments were given to Rooney to make him re-sign - Fergie has supposedly said there's no one being signed this window, but that seems to go against the suggestions made when Rooney did re-sign. So perhaps he's going to do another sulk in the near future.
