Aye, he was clearly showing nothing of the sort when he was signed for a world record fee of 9 million quid 3 years back.

you overpaid for him by loads. He might be worth that now (tho I strongly doubt it; good goalies are generally cheap), but he defo wasn't then.

It was a great save on Saturday but he's done little to stand out with otherwise in his time there. He certainly wouldn't be thought of as easily the best keeper in the country in a poll of footie fans... he might just scrape coming first in such a poll, but I strongly doubt it.

Didn't Myhill once have a great game for Hull? :P

Scottish goalkeepers have never been a patch on other home nations goalkeepers. Who have been great Scottish goalkeepers of the last 50 years? Goram? Leighton?

Gordon is not fit to lace the boots of Jennings, Shilton, Bonetti, Southall, Corrigan, Clemence, etc etc

That's exactly the point. A Scottish keeper being better than any current English keeper you care to mention is a sign of how poor British goalkeepers are at the moment. You get it now?

A matter of opinion. What isn't is that he's made a better save than any of them. Not quite as good as Montgomery's mind.

Then we understand each other.

Though if the first is an opinion it's also yours through implication: If British goakeeping standards are down and other home nations are usually better than Scotland then it stands to reason that English standards are also down.
