Why do you keep bringing that up as tho he meant it at the time of saying it? He very obviously didn't.

While I've never been entirely sure that he really meant it, I don't think you've pulled out the right quote about it - I'm pretty sure he first mentioned Jones and £40M when Liverpool (Rafa) were supposedly after him, and Quinn was talking to Liverpool behind Bruce's back.

If there's a player in the Premier league in better form than Nasri then I've not seen him. 2 quite brilliant goals yesterday. We still look so shakey at the back though. Part of the problem is that Song doesn't seem to be able to stick to his defensive midfielder roll this season.

Huge set of games coming up now, if we can stay unbeaten in December, we'll give ourselves a real chance at the league.

As somebody who wants to see a non man u/chelsea winner then while Im glad to see arsenal top, I think they should be doing better. While I think man utd and chelsea cant really argue about their point total, I really think arsenal should have got themselves a decent points lead from the games I have seen.

I think Utd will be kicking themselves aswell personally.

Fulham - Utd missed a penalty in around the 86th-87th min to make it 3-1, Hangeland scored in around 89th/injury time.

Everton - 3-1 up heading into injury time after playing very well all game, conceded twice in injury time in about the space of a minute.

West Brom - conceded a 2 goal lead, by a ricocheted own goal and VDS dropping an easy cross unchallenged, complete howler.

Slightly offset by the Villa comeback where on the face of it, Villa deserved all 3, but I'd argue Utd would feel they should've secured 5 more pts than they have done so far.

On balance Arsenal will probably feel they should've secured around 5 more aswell. They've lost against Chelsea, West Brom, Newcastle, Spurs, and drawn to Liverpool & Sunderland.

Spurs they chucked away a 2 goal lead to lose the game.

Sunderland; they missed a pen to make it 2-0 and then conceded in injury time to give a 1-1 draw.

Liverpool though, they got a bonus point from a bit of a gift in injury time with the Reina own goal - dropped/flapped a diagonal ball.

Chelsea was Chelsea, and West Brom were 3-0 up and missed a penalty. Nasri got a couple goals back but last was in injury time and no more than a consolation; don't think many Arsenal fans would feel they deserved much out of that game. Newcastle, they had the possession but didn't create much against a very disciplined defence and was a bit of an offday for likes of Fabregas etc.

This game we're playing's a bit shoddy though really isn't it?

For instance, Man Utd should have lost against Sunderland with Malbranque clean through on goal and thinking he was offside + Sunderland generally butt f**ked them, but for finishing. And despite the penalty award, their most fortunate of early freak goals and their opposition's last minute equaliser, Arsenal were swamped by Sunderland.

When you add the fact that Sunderland have dropped ten points in the last ten minutes of games, which would have made them second in the league, you can see just how easy it is for anyone to play this daft game of 'if only'.

My post was more a case of disagreeing with PT, in that the same's applicable to Utd than Arsenal imo, in that they'd probably feel they should've secured more points than they have.

Not saying that Utd deserved it, just that they'll feel they should have done better.

Im not talking so much about missed opportunities but more general performance. From what I have seen, the average standard of arsenals performances has been higher than the average standard of man utd performance but the points dont really reflect this.

All I see is two really poor sides, relatively speaking. Same goes for Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool. Even the Europa sides like Villa and Everton are bad. Spurs are the only team out of that lot that I think are performing well. They're the only elite side to sing about really. Bolton and Sunderland are doing pretty well outside of the elite.

I think that pretty much sums it up at the top. You can fashion some stats to suit if you like.

Iniesta can certainly claim the most memorable footballing moment of the year. However in terms of consistency and influence, I would rate xavi ahead of him.
