Finally for today, a Tennessee man called Brian McCrary apparently bought his local police department's domain name, in response to having received a speeding ticket. Emma Woollacott from TGDaily points out:

"The web hosting company, Go Daddy, had warned the Police Department that the domain was about to expire some three months in advance and several times since. Once the date was reached, the company posted a message on the site warning visitors that it was about to close, and it was this that gave McCrary his idea."

She says that Mr McCrary is now using the site to provide information on the location of speed cameras and offer fellow citizens a chance to gripe about them.

This news story has been the subject of discussion with a lot of people I know at the moment.

A lot of folk are saying she should have known better but I can remember myself at 14 and I had little to no understanding of my own mortality, and I can imagine myself doing something similar without giving it a second thought at the time!! I used to climb up old fire escapes on the sides of factories, fire escapes which even had steps missing because they'd rusted through, I climbed much much higher than 100ft and could have fallen at any time.

What do you guys think?

As far as I'm aware the girl is currently stable but still critical. My cousin is in her year at the same school :(

    • I really like the Cheap Thrills! I saw them at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester in January at one of Chris Hawkins' "Awesome Friends" nights (which i think is why I even got tickets as it wasn't listed as a Cheap Thrills show!). Very good live and some great songs. I would've gone Saturday if I'd planned ahead!
    • They also seem to be in a mission to break the US with their new major label and this latest LP   Mid afternoon, live streamed on Disney+ is arguably a much bigger gig than Kendal Calling, if they had to skip one
    • This is massively exciting. I've been curious to who will be provide vocals for their live show and this is mega!
