Led Zep to replace U2?

I should say, since I've been called a cretin and a troll...

If Led Zep played, I'd pretty much feel obliged to see them. I just think I'd come away disappointed.

I don't see anything wrong with bands who play in a blues tradition playing songs partly written by blues legends like the Lemon Song is. But then I love Howlin' Wolf's Killing Floor. Which is what it is fundamentally.

A friend of mine, and regular Glasto punter, who was lucky enough to work with Plant at a recent gig got the chance to talk to him during rehersals and ask him whether he was likely to be appearing in any shape or form at the festival. His reply at the time, was that he was going to be there, but was 'collaborating with a number of other artists'. At least this could be seen to lend weight to the possibility of him being there. The jump from that to a Zep renunion however is a bigger one.

I think everyone should just be a little realistic, as much as Led Zep playing would be the best thing in the world, its not going to happen, the longer this thread goes on, the more disappointed people are going to be when it doesn't happen.

he sounded game to feature at glasto in some way before havin talks with michael eavis?

surely now that all the rest of led zep are up for going there too and that its a good cause of helping out the best festival in glasto ,and one that gives a shag loada money to different charities?.

if anything this one set at glasto could enhance them even more, itle be legendary, the glasto crowd will blow led zep away and likewise led zep blowin the crowd away!.

if not then macca can go on and do another brilliant set full of classics

Are gorillaz able to play on a stage with such a tight schedule? Don't they need ages (as in, even longer than most bands) to set up their set, and if so, probably be tough to fit them into the existing Pyramid Stage schedule.

I agree Prince would be fantastic, but "the most logical"?! If only that were true.

Think I read somewhere that he charged some fantastic sum last time he played a festival - Monterey Jazz? - so I can't see him doing it, least of all at this stage.

    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
