I'm not totally against this idea to be fair. Don't get me wrong, there are hundreds of people I'd rather see, but she'd put on a decent show, and is quite...shall we say...aesthetically pleasing! Can she also bring Nick Cave with her? I'd love to see him on the bill somewhere, with Grinderman (I believe that's what he's up to right now...)

what as in she doesn't write her own songs either? or does she?

not expressing my opinion here, i just don't see why kylie seems to be universally loved and others hated. like robbie williams for example. he's more 'credible' and 'for real' than kylie. yet kylie is more liked from where i'm standing.

I'm not 100% sure but I beleive she writes or at least co-writes most of her material and she's come a hell of a long way since her Stock Aitken and w*nker days, don't get me wrong I'm not even remotely a Kylie fan (My fave band is Iron Maiden LOL) but as pop acts go I think she's worth a thousand Boyzones/Westlifes/JLS/Cheryl Coles etc

I'm up for a bit of Kylie me. She really has something and I actually own a few of her singles in amongst the metal, prog, psychedelia and krautrock that I favour. I must admit I would be "landed" as they say in Wales should she be announced. :P

Meh.

Hopefully she'll play during the footie so I've got an excuse to watch it (Don't want to see the SS either)

Still a very good booking for the festival as a whole if it is her though :P

NEINE NEINE NEINE, what a criminally awful thing to do. What happened to the headliners of the old festivals opening this year?! I can see this being true but i just pray to god it's not.

Saw her on the X tour in Sydney in December 2008 - absolutely fantastic show, although I doubt any festival appearance would be anywhere near as elaborate (costume changes, floating light rig, dancers, stage props, etc)...would still be well worth a watch tho.

However, due to my "try to avoid acts you've seen before" policy I have at Glasto, I probably won't watch her.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
