Oh God...my nightmare clash scenario has came to be...

I cannot believe my worst-case scenario clashwise has happened - having to choose between Orbital and Stevie Wonder for the Sunday.

In one corner a soul/motown god who I'm never gonna have the chance to see again and who's made some great singalong & party tunes in there too...

In the other? One of my favourite bands of all-time who've never disappointed the 3 times I've seen them (twice at Glasto) and whose music has probably provided the soundtrack for my happiest memories in life more than anyone else...

This really might be on the toss of a coin...

Or just go and see the boys at Glade...it will be the same set.

Its a total f**ker isnt it? As I said in the main Orbital thread...will wait to find out if there is any indication of the set list before the fest.

Be safe in the knowledge that P & P will be DJing in many a secret location no doubt throughout the weekend or even announced I wouldnt be surprised.

BOLLOCKS!!!

I had to go and listen to the 6Music set didnt I and hear the new track (at around 1 hour in)!?!

It samples 'Video Killed the Radiostar' and is just a tad filthy! Certainly a nice mix of old and new directions...what is meesa going to do?

Steeeeevieeeeee...meeep.

f**king Hartnolls...dont play last year...the year we WANTED them to play and then go up against an all time legend we wont ever get the chance to see again.

Toss a coin as you say...when I heard the news earlier I promised myself I wouldnt get upset or wound up...my love for Orbital unfortunately seems to be winning over common sense...oh bloody helll there goes a new version of Halcyon...I need a gin, a cold shower and a lie down! :P

Never really got into Orbital. In fact, there's not much in the way or dance/electronic stuff that grabs me. As I said in the other thread, not much would detract me from seeing Stevie Wonder anyway.

Surely we're not looking at Stevie v Faithless v Orbital all headlining PYRAMID/JAZZWORLD a la BLACK EYED PEAS/OTHER STAGE not great.

I bet the Chemical Brothers end up doing a DJ set in dance village just to take the piss properly :P

I love Orbital and have had some utterly wonderful times with them "back in the day" but I saw them at some snowboard festival in Battersea last year and, well I just didnt feel the same love as before. Maybe I'm too old. Or maybe they are.

Stevie for me, no question.

    • I didn't think I'd ever watched a Coben adaptation or read one of the original books, though turns out I did - I watched one called The Stranger back in 2020. Clearly didn't stick long in my memory as until researching it, I didn't know that was one of his. Queens Gambit or Black Mirror, it was not.    But clearly it's popular tripe in some respect if Netflix is going yes to everything he has to offer and are apparently about to start trying his most popular individual character, as seen below:   https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/jul/30/how-harlan-coben-became-the-king-of-potboiler-tv   Plus hey. Sometimes people get a kick from watching something and deriding it as crap. Don't let this internet rando stop you haha
