Blimey, there is some serious snobbery on this thread, how can this line up be classed as terrible, surely it represents popular modern music, plenty of dance acts thrown in, I'd be happy with loads of these acts at Glastonbury, and I'm sure loads will be there.

Why is it a shame? I love a good barney.

Having had a look at the line up now, I don't think it's that bad. There's a good half a dozen or so bands/acts I'd want to see and there's some variety there. The majority is (to coin a Tugger2K phrase) "Indie Landfill".

I have heard some bad stories about V (Bad crowds, trouble, poor organisation mainly) so if that's the case then I can see why some would be critical. And this is an open forum so what the hell.

Quite a few good bands on there but it is very very mainstream but then I suppose that is what V is trying to appeal to.

Lots of mates have been and it's more a posers festival than a music festival. Plenty of lads / lasses dressed as if they are on a night out rather than in a field

Haha! Langdale I am now eating humble pie in this case. Though even you can't deny the point of my mini rant! (I was citing your post as the most to hand example even if you were having a troll sesh!)

The V line-up this year does lack imagination but it will keep the punters happy eh!

hook line and sinker is the term I believe. I tip my hat!!! :P

No worries. I promise to behave from now on.

Yeah if people are happy with that, I'm pleased for them. A few mates of mine aren't doing Glastonbury and are going to V instead - fools. They've yet to go to Glastonbury and I think the moment they do they'll wonder why they ever insisted on V. But when they see that, I don't think they'll be very impressed. Especially since they're a bit gutted to be missing out on U2 and Stevie.

Difference of musical opinion is great. And ive no problem with people slagging bands that they just cant stand, its a bit of fun, and its the fact people dont like the same things drives diversity, also a splendid thing.

And it would seem most people who have been to both Glastonbury and V, prefer Glastonbury, I certainly do, and it just seems better on a lot of levels, so Ive no problem with that.

But,

For all of you who could put on your party boots for V fest, have a good time, and enjoy the music, despite it not being as good as Glasto - I salute you, youre my kind of person, lets go for a beer! :P

For all of you haters, who dismiss a whole festival and all that attend as rubbish, who couldnt have a good time there cos you'd spend too much time bitching about how un-original the bands are, or how they are 'so two years ago', who seem to generally dislike more music than you like, well, given the chance i'd swap a few of you at Glasto 2010 for a few V-festivallers, and im sure they'd bring more to the party. :P

I can't remember who it was - possibly Peevis - who once said that the order of "How good UK festivals are" goes like this :

1 - Glasto

2 - Every other festival, other than

3 - V-Festival.

    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
