Ah give it a rest with the pontificating and moralising.

Most people have had their lives touched by cancer in one way or another.

My wife's brother died from it when he was 19. It haunts her to this day.

My aunt died of a skin cancer from sunburn she received riding a pedalo when she was 28. It put my own mother into a depression she has barely recovered from over 20 years later.

Russy's comments are no different to the shock-tactics other people use. Tactics that include hundreds of diseases. The hand-wringing thats been going on here is pathetic. Its Russy for chrissakes. The man who says "You should not have been born with ears." to someone who didnt like Stevie Wonder. Get over yourselves.

Two, unconnected thoughts:

Wooderson is bang on the bollocks right

Robbie Williams is a f**king c**t, a fraudulant, insincere shitehawk. He'd w*nk off puppies for coins if it would get him on telly.

Good point, but you can't blame people for being offended or upset by what he said. At the end of the day he became the centre of attention again, which is probably what he was after in the first place so more fool us for playing along with it.

Oh really, well that speaks volumes too.

What is up with certain people on here, just because you aint got the right credentials to be part of the human race doesnt give you the right to go onto internet forums and say nasty, harmful and negative things about very serious issues.

In fact - sorry, I was wrong there.... you have whatever rights you want to free speech, just dont be surprised when people judge you because of the things you say.

I SUGGEST EVERYONE READS WHAT SIFIMASTER HAS WROTE ON THIS THREAD AND JUST THINK ABOUT IT!

Right, so you pick the first line of my post and off you go. I'm not saying what he put is right, and that's very clear from my post. What I am saying, as someone very closely affected by cancer, is someone posting something about Robbie Williams getting cancer on a thread on a music festival-related internet forum does not make my pain, or that of my family, any worse. It doesn't because it is irrelevant.

Of course you have the right to be offended. I have the right to be offended at you deciding I don't have "the right credentials to be part of the human race" based, it seems, on one line of one post on the same forum but I'm not offended because I don't care. I don't know you, whatever you're basing your judgement on is so little it's impossible for me to care, you're a line of text on a screen.

If you think yours, or anyone elses post, is any more than that you're placing far too much importance on it. I'm not condoning anything, but it's comical to see you and a couple of others jumping down my throat now for that one inoffensive line.

I'm more than happy to admit that I fell for YumYum's little joke - nice one, plausible enough to work well. It's interesting to note who reacted, and how. The "Usual Suspects" I call them, about half a dozen people who will argue the toss about anything, and are usually quite rude about it, just like all forums/newsgroups. Some things never change I suppose.

I can add some weight to this thread. I was also at the Brits after show party and I also had a word with Mr Williams.....who was not drunk but smacked out his mind with red Smarties ( its the colouring!). I quizzed him on a Glastonbury appearence and he assured me that he would be playing.....especially as the Pyramid is seen as a beacon for Alien actvity and Michael Eavis is really a giant lizard that rules the Earth. I considered his words as several of his special friends manoevered him to the doors ( its amazing how small cattle prods are these days), waving goodbye as they placed him the van. I did have my photograph taken with him but unfortunatley my old box brownie let in the light...sorry.

Can he please be but back on the rumours board because its pissing my wife off?

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
    • Yup and they aren't cheap   Glastonbury is different though, it's a place that will pack out for rarities they don't usually see. Download strictly speaking shouldn't be the strangest place for Avril to pop up of she had been a touring artist of longer times over the years.   Avril and GC would get the same billing for me and GC are selling arenas out quicker than Avril sold Ally Pally. Bearing in mind she'd pnly done soem Brixton dates before.
    • Avril gets above GC on rarity (see Cypress Hill this year). She drew in something like 70,000 at Glastonbury, so much so that they had to close the field off. I’d wager that she would get the biggest crowd of the entire weekend if she was to play DL.
