I was actually only taking the piss. I dont like either band. But they are both touring the UK in June so maybe yeah.

James were my most seen band at one point, probably about 1989 before they started with all that come home, sit down, stand up stuff. Bloody good they were too in their day *gets nostalgic* No idea what they'd be like twenty years on though. The Charlies always seem to put on a very hits filled show so that would probably go down well. And those that don't like it can always just laugh at Burgess' haircut.

Saw the Charlatans last Summer at the Stockton Riverside Fringe Festival. Was quite impressed, they were better than I expected.

In my opinion they are still as good as they ever have been. In fact I think you should buy / copy / download / tape their 2008 album called Hey Ma. It's easily a match for Goldmother / Seven / Laid.

And always good live.

Charlatans are playing Some Friendly in its entirety at Primavera. Not my favourite of their albums but would definitely catch up with some of that.

And on that theme..... Primal Scream playing Screamadelica!!!! From start to finish!!! (tho not till November )

Last saw the Charlietwins when they toured Tellin' Stories and was impressed with the performance if I'm honest. Never been a mad fan, but always kinda liked them.

I agree with half of this. James are still cracking live - saw their homecoming gig in Manchester in 2008, which was fantastic, and thought they'd be excellent for Glastonbury. Then 2 years of the festival went past without a sign of them.

But I wouldn't recommend Hey Ma to non-fans. It's pretty average - some excellent songs (particularly the last two and the single, Whiteboy) but quite overproduced, and the title song is awful.
