This year it'll be the imminent exam following Glasto. Shouldn't really be going but it's my holiday.

Usually I dislike the toilets and going without a shower for a few days. It's all part of the experience though I guess!

Tape I can understand - as long as whoever they're 'reserving' for arrives quite soon (i.e. the same afternoon) and the tape is taken down after they arrive, but a f**king picket fence?!???!

They were there last year, at the top of Michael's Mead, fully fitted with big barbecue and lounger chairs!

I actually rank the sitting down toilets thus:

1. Long drops (with roof)

2. Long drops (without roof)

3. Flushers

4. Turdis

Perhaps because on a couple of occasions I went to the flushers and found them left in an unpleasant condition. The queues for them are too long too, when you can often get to a long-drop very quickly.

We're all generally hypermanic excited about the whole thing but is there one tiny element that you don't look forward to facing every time?

Weather might be the obvious one but odd little things are more fun!

For me? The thought of packing the tent on Monday morning barely awake, aching and suffering from the adrenalin comedown and just knowing that the huge hill just outside of exit C is coming up...gives me nightmares every time!

Getting from the carpark to the campsite, but more so... Bagging the campsite then having to save space until all the other people actually get there. Trying to get your group together and feeling like a bit of a prick saying to others 'that space is reserved'

A necessary evil but one that I hate doing none the less.

Faffing. as much as i love going with a nice big group of mates, the thing i can't stand is the endless fannying about that occurs when you try and do anything or go anywhere in a group of more than about 6. I'll be all ready to leave the campsite, then someone will have to go back in their tent to get something, then someone else will arrive back at the campsite, then decide to come with us, then take an age to get ready, then we'll finally leave, then someonwe will need a wee, then someone will decide theyre hungry, someone else will get distracted by the shops, then we'll get to where your going just as what we went to see finishes, then we'll all split up anyway! argh!!

This year its just me and the missus going so i'll only have to put up with one woman's faffing.

To be honest my policy there has become wait untill I am so desperate to go that I don't care where, and then wee behind a car - usually in full view of a fair number of people, that luckily I will never see again! This makes interesting reading but for context, I would regard all of the things mentioned as niggles/necessary evils that do not in any way detract from the experience.

Last year was my first Glasto. There was some rain, some mud, the traffic in was horrendous and the walk to find a pitch once there was murder in boiling hot weather with far too much gear. The toilets were at times putrid, but in the main OK. I got raging shits on Friday night which lasted all weekend and made me miss some acts I wanted to see. I tripped over a stray tent rope and nearly lost a tooth in the dark. I was tired, hung over, dehydrated every morning and out in the fresh air after not much sleep by 9-ish every day.

And I f**king loved every minute.

The one thing that did cloud the weekend a bit for me was the dance area. I only went in twice (not a big dance music fan to be fair but like bits and pieces) and both times I saw a couple of young-ish w*nkers having a set to over nothing, just because they'd had too much or the wrong pills. That killed the vibe for me. In fact the atmosphere in that area was the worst on site IMO. Won't be making the trip to that area this year unless there is something very special on.
