What's the one thing about Glsto you DON'T look forward to?

Monday Morning..... or when I was driving Sunday evening cos I would stop drinking about 9 in the evening and then be all sad and bloody miserable cos:

• People were still drinking and I was not

• I Knew I would have to pack up

• I knew I would have to lug shed loads of crap out of the site

• I knew it would be over

So I will change it from Monday morning to Sunday about 7 30 pm when I was contemplating my last six ciders before 9 pm.....

However this year I plan to get mullured from the moment the car stops till several days later in the week after I have been delivered home......

Quite simply Glastoenteritis mainly comes from drinking strong cider on an empty stomach. Fruit acids eating away your stomach lining = grumbly tumtum and a quick dash to the nearest longdrop!

By eating a giant pasty (known as an Oggy) you line your tummy and muchos drinking of Burrowhill can ensue.

Oggies or the 'welsh oggie' is like a HUGHE cornish pasty very nice and filling.

The only thing I am not really looking forward to is the trying to get us all in our group to meet up (we are all from different parts of the country) so I am not looking forward to the logistics of everyone trying to get together before and/or while there so we can all camp next to each other!

Thanks mate. It's going to be weird regarding my mate really. We went to lots of gigs and festivals together including 3 glastos so it's going to be hard not having him there. Strangely he couldn't go in 08 so we had a picture of him on our camp flag. Now he's gone i want to take that flag again but I think it's going to be tough seeing him. An awful lot of my glastonbury memories revolve around him and certain bands I really struggle to listen to because we went to see them together (Elbow in particular - don't play "My Very Best" when I'm around whatever you do, amazing song but just leaves me in floods of tears).

All this said I'm amazingly excited about returning to worthy farm this year, it's going to be brilliant. Can't wait to meet you all properly at the meet this time, are we going to have a efest gathering for the footy as well?

Going home

Last year we didn't leave until 5pm on the Monday, lots of similar minded people up around teh stone circle, scorching June day just chilling watching a greyhound running around

Once I have my oversized shades on (weather permitting) and a touch of slap (plus tea in hand) I am ok

The walk in (people always get abit snappy with each other when bags/beer keeps falling off/out of things and its for about a mile)!

The trek out-horrible feeling-youre glad its over in a way coz you stink but it is sad

The one thing I hate at festivals is the morning. I always wake up with a stinking hang over, fully dressed with my clothes all twisted lying on the cold tent floor, in an atmosphere of stupid heat and smell then thinking that unlike at home I have to get up, get motivated and enjoy myself!

Once I'm over that I'm good.

I just cannot afford a new one and even if I could I wouldn't be able to carry anything more elaborate anyway.

I've bought a tarp this year and hope to shade it a bit with that.
