What's the one thing about Glsto you DON'T look forward to?

We're all generally hypermanic excited about the whole thing but is there one tiny element that you don't look forward to facing every time?

Weather might be the obvious one but odd little things are more fun!

For me? The thought of packing the tent on Monday morning barely awake, aching and suffering from the adrenalin comedown and just knowing that the huge hill just outside of exit C is coming up...gives me nightmares every time!

The one thing I hate at festivals is the morning. I always wake up with a stinking hang over, fully dressed with my clothes all twisted lying on the cold tent floor, in an atmosphere of stupid heat and smell then thinking that unlike at home I have to get up, get motivated and enjoy myself!

Once I'm over that I'm good.

The thought of the long queue to leave the carpark on Monday. I can cope with the long queues on arrival, as I am anticipating the next 5 days, but queueing on the way home is frustrating. If the weather's nice, I'll be loading the car up fairly early, then wander the site / chill out in the sun, until early evening.

Me too, last year I forced myself to get up, usually about 9am, go for a non specific wander round the site, get a Yeo Valley yoghurt in, some fruit, a coffee and a shower and then back to bed for an hour or two. Then back on the wine. :P

Rain. Not that I'm going to jinx it by saying we'll have some - I hope to god we don't see a drop - but I get genuinely miserable when I'm woken up to the sound of raindrops falling onto my tent. Especially if it was clear and dry when I went to bed.

It won't RUIN my festival, but it'll make it a damnsight harder to enjoy it.

NO RAIN. NO COMPROMISE.

Apart from the obvious that everyone's already stated, massively looking forward to seeing one particular act then when they finally arrive on stage they get 2 songs into the set & I realise I'm desperate for a wee & then I have to go through the whole 'will I make it too the loos & back in time & find me friends again' or 'should I just hold off until the end where I know it will be verging on painful'.

No matter how much I try & avoid this I know it will happen at some point over the weekend.

    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
    • A lot of people have said this online but does the Marvel world need new cities to play with? New York seems to be a target of all the villains to the point where you wonder why anyone in that world still lives there. Much as you can accuse me of overthinking it I guess haha.    I do agree that The Void is a compellingly different villain in many respects given the superpower is trapping people in their most traumatic memories. Shame in some respects the film came out in the post-Endgame funk Marvel seems stuck in and a lot of people missed out on it.    Speaking of, I rewatched Infinity War the other day. First time I think I've seen it since seeing it in the cinema on its opening day. Holds up pretty well imo - I have issues sometimes with ensemble casts and jumping between 4/5 storylines but it felt this one got the balance right and also properly explored Thanos. So it was good.
    • I didn't think I'd ever watched a Coben adaptation or read one of the original books, though turns out I did - I watched one called The Stranger back in 2020. Clearly didn't stick long in my memory as until researching it, I didn't know that was one of his. Queens Gambit or Black Mirror, it was not.    But clearly it's popular tripe in some respect if Netflix is going yes to everything he has to offer and are apparently about to start trying his most popular individual character, as seen below:   https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/jul/30/how-harlan-coben-became-the-king-of-potboiler-tv   Plus hey. Sometimes people get a kick from watching something and deriding it as crap. Don't let this internet rando stop you haha
