I,m slightly confused by this.....does this mean that caravans /camper vans go in at 9 as well?. I thought they were to be allowed in at 12 to try and stop the congestion. I think this could all go a bit pear shaped with people arriving all through the night.

It doesn't go into specifics about which car parks will be used, but I imagine they're open East and West and fill the fields as people arrive just like they usually do.

The campervan fields open at midday on Tuesday and will have refreshment stalls, the car parks won't open until 9pm and won't have refreshment stalls. It's all in the licence.

It is in the licence but nothing has been officially announced by GFL.

That's what I think! I have to spend the night before Glastonbury with at least one other Glasto-goer. Imagine spending it in a field, with thousands of them! I'd love it.

True, but GFL specifically requested that the campervan fields be allowed to open on Tuesday at midday, so it stands to reason that now that they are allowed to, they will., otherwise there wasn't much point in requesting it in the first place.

I thinik this is going to be so exciting, imagin the atmosphere! So will we have a massive carpark party or go to the local? In my eyes it adds an extra night to the festival - let the party begin!

We are planning to be at the Riflemans this year.

Just a thought, but to me, it would have made sense to open the festival gates at about 5am. That way the hard core who want to be in as early as possible would have a good 3-4hrs to get in before the main crowds arrive instead of having 40/50000 people trying to get in from 8am.

I assume, that once parked, you won't be able to leave the site to go t'pub anyway.

Yup, if the volunteers are ready, even at say 7am would be better. But might the licence only allow punters onsite at 8am earliest?

Yes, but surely that would have only been a minor change to the licence that would have made things so much better and would help with the congestion issues on the gate.

they are opening an hour earlier this year.. 8am..

they just cant keep putting the times back to suit early arrivers/traffic issues.. or we will all end up there in may

I'd like to think they'd think ahead for these sorts of things. Anyone know where we can have a look at the licence in its completeness?

I know but why have they left it out of the update? Thia is my way of remaining positive as we tow a caravan with a MK 2 Jaguar who hates having to queue and if she has to generally has a tantrum and spits out all her water!
