Old Mr Stevens (as was) has been a little more active recently, even appearing on tele, and is writing some new matterial.

As a fantastic artist, a very spiritual man and an original from the scene of 40 years ago surely he would be perfect to play this year.

Well?

Glastonbury tried very very hard to get him to play a few years ago (he was the act that Eavis was reported as saying he was very excited about), but despite many hours of trying to persuade him, he wouldn't do it, as he didn't wish to be involved in something of such a high profile.

At that time tho he'd done very little for many years, so it's possible I guess that he'd be more happy to do it now (tho I ain't holding my breath).

Apparently he is very hit and miss live. His gig in Dublin a few months back had people booing and walking out. They were expecting a greatest hits set, which they most certainly didnt get.

"Islam paused his performance for a 40 minute preview of his forthcoming musical, "Moonshadow". A cast led by former Hear’say singer Noel Sullivan trouped on to act, dance and deliver a mix of new material"

not really related to if he is playing or not but I dealt with his baggage claim when his camera was stolen from his suitcase. Not happy when told it was a valuable item and should have been in hand luggage so was not covered. Did not have travel insurance tut tut

    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.

    • They really dropped a bollock on their lineup this year. They went with Richard Ashcroft because he did well as Oasis support - But realistically, you're not getting 50k people in a field to hear the 4 or 5 songs they know at like £70+ a ticket. Can't get my head around the Kasabian booking, either. Finsbury Park was a bold move for them, and yes it sold out, but I think you're more likely to see people make the journey to London if they want to see them rather than Glasgow. A second similar capacity show was always going to be a big ask for them.
