See everyone keeps on posting the nearly same song on here (Superstition) and how amazing it would be. Ive no doubt that it'll be great, and that Stevie will be great, but as a headliner? Not convinced at all. Saturday night headliner in Glasto is the biggest gig in the world and I just think half of Stevies set is beautiful soul music, soft and played great. But still soft. The 5pm on the Sunday is where you need that. Or the Jazz World, but that'd be too rammed.

I Just Called to Say I Love You - I hope its in the contract that he doesnt play that.

IF Stevie's on, he'd have to headline...

it'd be like having Hendrix on the oldies slot :P

The more I think about it, the more Wonder makes sense. Only problem is he has a lot of ballads, so probably someone to enjoy dancing at the back rather than squashed up the front. There's not exactly going to be much jumping around if he does headline.

So let me get this straight. This is a festival that has in the past decade given headlining slots to Stereophonics, Rod Stewart, Moby, Kylie Minogue, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, and The Verve but people are doubting that Stevie Wonder is of headlining standard?

What a crazy, crazy world we live in

(I actually hope he's playing the sunset slot before Prince but I doubt I'm that lucky :P )

Greenday = Not realistic - theyre more of a Reading band.

True. But they'll play T in the Park this year. Could Stevie Wonder sell out 2 nights at Milton Keynes?

Macca/Bowie = Both headlined with vintage shows before and unlikely to ever play the festival again. Their last shows were among the best the festival has ever put on and the two lads know that it'd be silly to try to top 'em.

Emily said there would be returning headliners, doubt they'll play but they're bigger than SW.

Radiohead = Have played multiple times. Will prolly headline again but please... enough with the Radiohead at Glasto. Do you want it to turn into a fest with annual Radiohead and some other bands?

I've never seen Radiohead. :P

now i wouldnt class myself as a particularly big fan of mr wonder but I do however have 2 or 3 of his albums in my collection and they are al very very good.

To be honest if this rumour is true it will be a worthy headline and it will take someone of serious magnitude to make me not watch this living legend.

I guess we could always get eavis to put it to the vote and we'd end up wiht fecking florence

If this is true, and he is doing the Pyramid on Sunday then its an even bigger signing than U2. he is not anyone i would want to see though, never have liked him at all, even though i will admit he is good. Just hope they have some decent bands on teh other stages,or i will be going home eary agaim...Could not be bothered with Blur last year.

No point in me watching him if i don't like him, hope there are good alternatives. Last year i gave Blur a wide berth as i can't abide them, nothing else i wanted to see so left for home about 11pm. It did not spoil my festival though still had brill time

    • It was great, but I don't know why they continue to play Wide Lovely Eyes and Rings of Saturn, which are the weakest of the tracks off both PTSA and ST. Well, I do. It's cos they're about Suzie, so he can sing what he wants. They're the low points of the set. The rest is ace.
    • I didn't this time, but I've seen them before and just because you saw both that night doesn’t mean you can compare them. The Stones were great, but.you didn't think so and you went somewhere else looking for a good time and you found it. For whatever reason you didn't like it, but you were an outlier and all the reviews said they were great.
    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, i.e a verbal agreement for 2028, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
