He's Just a Rascal a Dizzee Rascal

Dizzee is definately big enough to headline The Other stage IMO. He now has loads of hits, he can command a crowd and with Bonkers he has a tune that could get the whole crowd bouncing.

Don't understand why people are even considering Dizzee isn't worth headlining Other Stage. He's decent enough, is getting more and more popular, and can control a crowd (something he's definitely improved on since Leeds '08, which was woeful).

That said, he'd be so much better if he dropped the village hall DJ and got a real band in. You don't need to see him if he plays, so why the hate?

And also, Arcade Fire headlining - yes please! Maybe underneath U2 on Pyramid though, Wake Up in the sunset :P

Slightly OT, but I wouldn't necessarily view the Other Stage as second billing. It's a huge festival and by definition will have people with a huge differentiation in what they like and dislike. Surely scheduling and act to 'draw' 50,000 people away from the Pyramid is bad planning. Trying to schedule big acts from different genre or era would be a better idea surely? Or is it just not the done thing to go "back" a stage having played a bigger/different one previously? Dizzee up against U2 for instance would be a good idea as I don't think they'd have many people who love both so the clash is less of a problem.

I reckon Dizzee Rascal is easily big enough to headline the Other. I never really liked much of his earlier stuff but I think he's grown as a writer and performer. The band he tours with now are also ace (like the mad hairy guitarist - v. talented and clearly nuts about what he does). I reckon it'd be a good headline show TBH.

Why not? They have headlined festivals before, headlined the other stage. Big enough to do arena tours, bigger than the Arctic Monkeys internationally who headlined and Funeral was blatantly one of the best albums from the last decade if not ever.

Go out into the street and do a straw poll. Ask the below questions.....

Have you heard of Arcade Fire?

Do you know what they do?

Do you know what they play?

I love them but am pretty sure 75% will say no to all of the above ergo not a headliner.

When did they headline the other stage? Why does that now make them pyramid headliners and what other festivals have they headlined?

Artic Monkeys have had a top 20 album in 18 countries, Arcade Fire 6 and Artics have actually sold far more. Don't let your personal preferance cloud your judgement. Funeral is blatantly one of the best albums from the last decade or ever, IN YOUR VIEW.

That's just not true. Besides I would expect well over 75% of the people who attend Glastonbury to know who they are. Funeral, in all the 'albums of the decade' charts that were drawn up by various publications, consistently polled in the top ten.

They are also releasing a new album this year mate. I don't think they'll headline for a second however they are easily big enough. If you went out to the street and did a poll I'm sure a very large proportion wouldn't have heard of Neil Young.
