Glatonbury Alternatives

After going to Galstonbury the last two years we didn't get out arses i gear to get ticket this time and missed out. Disaster!

Would anyone be kind enough to suggest an alternative as the thing we mainly go to Glasonbury for is the bands (obviously) and trash city/shangri-la.

Is there any festivals which have stuff going on till the sun comes up whilst still having good bands on?

Looking at what i can find it seems like a choice between a dance festival (I prefer the bands) and a rock festival where the arena shuts at 11pm. Are there any places that have a good line up of bands and tents that keep goin till it gets light??

Don't really know the in and outs of most of the festivals aside from the big ones like leeds/ t in the park v, etc so any ideas would be much appreciated!!!

Sadly, for you and others who haven't got tickets, there is no alternative to Glasto. There are 'as well as' fests that compliment but no 'instead ofs.'

Your best bet if to watch out for the ticket re-sales in Feb.

Roskilde or Latitude I'd say.

Would recommend Rock Werchter too. It's GREAT for music (2 stages with the same budget of other euro festivals = quite big bands early on and a great lineup. Top 2 bands each night on main stage play 90-120mins so double headliners!!), but really lacking in campsite atmosphere (seriously, never heard such a quiet festival campsite). So doesn't exactly meet your specs, but it's definitely a festival that has an original approach to the lineup. Worth checking out at some point.
