PR5 - It's mental :P Better snow than the great snow we had before christmas - f*ckin my delivery schedules up mind

Lancashire is in a general state of chaos, though you'd think it was life threatening with the way some people are banging on about it on local radio.

I had a rant on local radio over gritting the roads. People where complaining that other countries did not have this chaos and I pointed out that in other countries the roads often are not gritted, but people use snow chains their common sense when driving in snowy conditions.

Oh I am SO looking forward to the BBC news page having a 'your photos' page with some dog looking pissed off dressed in a hat and scarf next to a badly built snowman. I bet they'll be drastically different from last years.

Question - what would have to happen around the world for 'UK hit by snow' NOT to be the main headline?

I think if Obama was assassinated, it'd only make a snippet just below the picture by the out of focus photo sent in by Dale (aged 8) of his garden gnome covered in white stuff.

I couldn't get in work today due to the snow and i've just had a call from the ones who did get in telling me they are all getting sent home and 12 so we've got the day off :P

One bloke has just left work 'in case he gets snowed in'. As he was leaving, another bloke had a huge argument with him about it, telling him he doesn't put any effort in and is basically a slacker. It almost came to blows until the scary German woman who sits opposite me stepped between them and told them to grow up.

F**k the snow, I'm staying right here. This is brilliant.

How can stupid parents not understand the phrase "Move that kid out of the way. Fat Man coming down"??

Stupid people with their soft kids.

Mind you my 19 year old is absolutely knackered as I have made him pull me home on my sled from Sainburys. It's only a little over a mile and a half as well :P

    • Hmm, weird- Rush are playing the Co-Op live on the 12th and the 14th, and Megadeth are the meat in that sandwich - so they have to roll everything in, roll it out again, only to roll it back in and then out - here's hoping for a prog hokey-cokey with all manner of bizarre time signatures and drum solos!
    • Depends what you mean by seeing 'more stuff' about it.    I definitely don't trust the original Sun article.

    • Chill. There is no chance Sziget will be cancelled by the government. Even the prime minister held a press conference today, where he confirmed this.   Magyar said they do not want to shut down the country or prevent events from taking place. He gave the example that vetoing an event would be like completely cutting off a large consumer’s electricity supply for the organizers. However, just as they have not taken such a measure against large consumers, they have not taken steps to cancel events either. (Magyar did not name a specific event, but he was presumably referring specifically to the Sziget Festival.) At the same time, Péter Magyar stressed that if disruptions occur in the system or the heatwave persists, it could become necessary to postpone or reschedule events (example: some Hungarian football games will probably be held in daylight, moved to a few hours earlier, to save energy), although he believes there is currently little chance of that happening. This is particularly true for events that rely entirely, or largely, on their own energy sources.
    • If the campervan field residents aren’t allowed to cut through orchid they’ve got a brutal walk on their hands.   otherwise not too many surprises
