I've been walking irresponsibly quickly on the ice to and from work, I enjoy the challenge. My reactions are pretty quick so I'm not too worried, and I like overtaking people who walk as if the pavement is about to collapse.

it f*cking cold this morning!

I sent Mrs Strudders to work on the train this morning for a number of reasons:

  1. The roads are treacherous still

  2. She cant drive in the snow/ice and I love her very much and dint want her dieing in a fiery ball

  3. She was up late and might fall asleep at the wheel.

Anyway she text me to say:

  • I have missed the train when's the next one

  • I have not locked the car up

  • I have not got a parking ticket.

So deal we delt with the missed train.... catch the text one......

Get a cab down to the station and lock the car using *wait for it* a key......

Buy said car parking ticket from the station.

My point to all this, is I have not been out since Tuesday and was gob smacked that none of the roads where clear of ice and snow! FFS its been like 3 days and the Taxi driver was like "yeah its really really dangerous more so now than on Wednesday and thursday as its all super compact ice!"

I know the grit does not work but they could have least cleared the paths. As it was bubs helped me sort out our issues and we got back safe.... Oh and I was in my shorts which made a few people giggle.....

but I say again its f*cking cold out there, even by the seaside!

It's really snowing here again.

I was really liking it until a couple if days before Christmas wen I slipped and fell in the ice and broke my tailbone and bruised my spine and shoulders. Now that I'v been back at work a couple of days I've been in a ton of pain. Sitting around to much methinks. Co-codamol FTW!

I know I have said it so many times this week and have been oop north many times when its snowing that the south are a bunch of useless, southern softy bastards who could not cope with anything.

Its a damming indictment of the north south divide that we cant cope, you can and the news is virtually 0 when you have snow but is the biggest story of the year when we do.

It does make me ashamed and I do understand why people take the piss because to be frank you have every right to.

I had a visit from the police last night over the "incident". I did drop myself in it a little bit. The copper knocked on the door and said "We would like to discuss an incident off Stockport Road" My first reaction was to say "It wasn't my fault. The stupid kid didn't get out of the way of my sled quick enough"

Anywhooo. The council want to prosecute, and the shop owner cannot produce any receipts for the stuff he has been selling. The police believe he has been driving around other districts as he had about 3 tonnes of the stuff in the back yard. (thats a couple of grit bins worth)

    • Olivia Rodrigo is here. There's no way though, right?? I'd miss mbv for her I think
    • So, when will we know what's in our Occident mistery box? I hope they'll end the guessing game and tell us before
    • What I didn't like was Pinkpantheress set. Coming from Jade, it was impossible to get even a half-decent spot. You could manage to get a decent-ish view, but the sound was just terrible.

    • Standardly perfect day at Primavera yesterday.   Highlights:   Rilo Kiley - kinda smallish crowd, comparing to Geese, but man, they sounded great.   The Cure - finally saw them for the first time and loved every minute (left during Close to Me).   Jade (arrived during FUFN) - amazing voice, perfect vibes, great show.   The Levi's Plaza - I went there just after Somos la herencia and when I decided to take a pee break and saw the line of people waiting to get inside to see Rose Gray, I rescheduled the pee break for later. She had a fun little set in front of a very small (but very dedicated) audience. I don't understand why the capacity limit of this stage was so low. However, MANY people were watching from outside the "plaza". If you're looking for a feeling of exclusive experience and dedicated crowd and have 30 minutes to spare, this is the right stage. Also, to whoever recommended Babymorocco, thanks, it was kinda silly, but very high energy set. I would definitely come back to this stage today, if not for the clashes.
