You complained that it looked like a MOR lineup from 1988, then said you like Classic Rock, but this is too much and it should be more varied.

So yes, you did complain its too old school, or too classic rock (even though most of the bands arent considered classic rock).

The quotes are right above in my previous post so theres no point in denying it :P

Fair enough none of the bands interest you but thats not what your original complaint was, then to herald two actual classic rock bands as the greatest lineup ever is just a tad contradictory

you're still wrong i'm afraid. the '1988' comment was an observation more than a complaint. and as i previously pointed out, and i believe this is verbatim: 'i like a bit of classic rock as much as the next guy'.

as it happens, the lineup has recently become 'more varied', but has still not become good. in my opinion.

When I was looked at the other Sonispheres to see who might be playing the UK one as well

The Finland and Sweden ones happen the following week after the UK one at the same time the same weekend

Finland is a two day fest and Sweden is a one day and look at the line ups then

SWEDEN 7TH AUGUST

IRON MAIDEN

HEAVEN AND HELL

MOTLEY CRUE

ALICE COOPER

IGGY AND THE STOOGES

SLAYER

ANTHRAX

-----------------------------------

FINLAND 7TH AUGUST

HIM

FINLAND 8TH AUGUST

IRON MAIDEN

HEAVEN AND HELL

MOTLEY CRUE

ALICE COOPER

IGGY AND THE STOOGES

SLAYER

ANTHRAX

FINLAND UNKNOWN DAY

THE CULT

So from that Finland has the whole of the other day to book, so theres a lot of acts from that day that could play ours or they could be getting Fear Factory, Placebo etc

It also makes you think that Megadeth and Metallica aren't going to be doing any of these three fests. But it looks like Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Iggy, Slayer and Anthrax could all be playing the same day at the UK Soni

Also Placebo, Bring Me The Horizon and Henry Rollins is Sunday, looks like theres a lot to be announced for Saturday UK Soni still going by this. Of course I could just be talking bollocks

sonispheres line up has gone "classic rock" ways because of the success of download's sunday line up last year. that day went down very well, and obviously sonisphere are looking to cash in on this.

Imagine if they had all those older bands announced, plus metallica as a secret slot all on one day! (obviously not gunna happen as some bands confirmed other days) that would be immense

Iron Maiden

Metallica

Slayer

Megadeth

Anthrax

Alice Cooper

Motley Crue

Motorhead

Iggy Pop And The Stooges

The Cult

That would be effing brilliant!

I think Ive mentioned this before but surely Clutch and Black Label Society will be added to Sonisphere, both playing the lower stage at High Voltage the week before Soni. Surely they wouldn't come over to the UK just to do that?

Especially as they haven't been announced as an exclusive. Id be f**king made up if they do play Soni too

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
