Excuse me? James Brown, great though he was, has not got the hits of Stevie. Stevie would command at least a two hour set whilst James Browns hits would manage about........... half am hour?

:P

James brown released 67 albums in his career and that's not counting live album and compilations if you took them into consideration the count goes up to 120 albums.

I think he may have managed to fill out 90 minutes or so and even throw ina doxzen or so famous well recognized songs.

i saw him live in 2004 and is was amazing it would have been amazing for a man half his age let alone a pensioner!

don't get me wrong i love Stevie wWonder and would absolutely LOVE him to appear next year but come on you obviously have little or no knowledge of James Brown so why this daft assumption about him and his work.

it doesn't even make sense to me to be compairing the two to be honest.

Stevie Wonder Headlining the Pyramid would actually be the greatest thing ever. A true legend on the scale of Bowie and McCartney.

The difference between Mr Brown and Stevie Wonder is that while JB was great in 2004, he actually did nothing apart from grunt at the end of each line, this is because he was half dead. Saw Stevie Wonder last year and he could still play and sing like he was 30, it was truly amazing. Plus its true, Stevie's greatest hits pisses all over James Brown's (and I LOVE James Brown). There just aint a contest though.

p.s. Neil might be able to confirm or deny but I'm fairly sure there was a substantial rumour that Eavis asked Stevie to take Kylie's slot when she pulled out but he declined because it didn't feel right.

Ooooh Stevie Wonder at Glasto? That'd be good. Can't say I know too much of his stuff, but what I know I like. I'd watch him. He'd be an ace headliner.

Oh, and to add to the poor taste:

Apparently Stevie Wonder got a cheese grater for his birthday. He said it was the most violent book he'd ever read.

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
