You try to compare a band that has moved on from their first two albums with an amazing third release with Oasis and Springsteen? OMG! Perhaps you were thinking of The Kaiser Chiefs instead? :P I suggest you buy West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum and listen to nothing else for a week. It will still sound great, fresh, modern, innovative...... ! :P

I'd also say they drew the biggest crowd of the weekend. Halfway through I went to the toilets on the right hand side of the Pyramid and it was just log jammed. I know large crowds at festivals means a few bottlenecks here and there but the amount of people who weren't even in front of the Pyramid but were there to see them was just ridiculous!

..Whatever.

I'm still looking forward to them play Wembley Arena this Sat eve. :P

DJ support early eve and Reverand and The Makers support band.

I'll get a McD's Happy meal on the way home & that'll be the best night out I've had since..... prob Bruce Springsteen's support at Glasto this year! :P

BTW there was no Glasto 2006 & they didn't appear in 2008... So what with these comments of 5 years on the trot and playing Glasto too often is bollox!!

I'll be very happy if they do Glasto next year (prob Other Stage headliner rather than Pyramid) but if not, they'll be back in 2011 if not 2010. I'll be there near the front again. :P

Each to their own but I saw them last night in Aberdeen and they were brilliant. As for Glasto, possibly no because that would be 3 out of 4 years which is too much for any band.

You'll enjoy Wembley if it's as good as last night. Set list was the same as the one a few posts above.

On at 8.45 for about 90 mins

I thought Kasabian were rubbish at Glastonbury this year.

Only went along as a mate I met up with was desperate to see them, was bored for their entire set until some lassie behind us tried to pour her wine all over my girlfriends head. that was the most entertainment we got out of the entire 4 hours or whatever it seemed like Kasabian were on for

no atmosphere, no tunes worthy of the name, no point in booking them again

Well I thought they were amazing at glastonbury this year! not as good as blur but definately better than bruce!

And down towards the front there DEFINATELY was a good atmosphere! and there were plent of good tunes... LSF, club foot, fire to name a few!!

Although going back to the original point...they won't and shouldn't play next year!! they've played far too many times in the past few years!

I reckon the only reason they had such a big crowd was people waiting for what was on after them.

For me they are boring, unoriginal tosh who I have seen a few times and been totally underwhelmed at every ocassion.

As they seem to have been a regular fixture for so many years i would imagine that they prob wont even get a look in next year, thankfully

Hope they don't play, nothing against them but they've done 4 of the last 5 glastos already, so be nice for prominent slots to go to someone else this year personally.

Wasn't that impressed when saw them when they opened other stage in '04, but were pretty good penultimate slot on the other in '05.

I like this thread. It makes you realise just how music garners different opinions.

I am not a fan of Kasabian, but they sure do have a big loyal following.

I darent mentioned the stuff I saw that rocked my world :P and there certianly werent any log jams (pardon the pun) to get to the toilet during their slot

Adding to an earlier comment about the size of the crowd. I was at the very back of the boss's set for a short while and I can say that I have not seen a crowd like it before or since at glastonbury and I have been there since 1985.
