I swear Coldplay said in 2008 that they weren't going to headline Glasto again, at least for a long time. When Jay Z was announced and people wanted a response Chris Martin said something like "Jay Z is exactly who should be headlining Glasto, and we definitely shouldn't be any more."

They would be a bit of a safe/yawn choice wouldn't they? I like them, but still.

Was looking through the archives for the post last year about odds but couldn't find it. Seem to remember that the Boss was top then so that came out right. I think U2, Radiohead and Muse have been around 12/1 every year for the last 4 so not holding my breath. Would love Muse to come back, has been 6 years since they headlined.

i reckon, based on nothing but guesses and the fact its '40th anniversary', it'll be coldplay, radiohead and Muse. Swap Muse for Macca or stones maybe, though i doubt the stones price tag has suddenly dropped.

David Byrne would be a good shout as a headliner. Saw him at The Big Chill this year and it was virtually a Best Of Talking Heads set. Plenty of tunes to bop to.

The Rolling Stones are dead. They died when Brian Jones kicked the bucket. Why would anyone want to see the corporate money grabbing pastiche that is all that remains?

This last sentence makes no sense. Why would you see someone 5 times if.....anyway, the Leeds set wasn't well chosen for a festival set, speaking as a fan. Was still the stand out of a very dull weekend though (unless you like La Roux, but if you do, I can inhale helium and sing over a £40 Casio keyboard's demo track if you want to pay me for it)

Hey I don't hate anyone or anything, I just prefer somethings more to others. I just don't get the average Radiohead fan or any other band fan for that matter. Why do they always assume that everyone else must also like their favourite band????

Much as I'd love to see it, he's not big enough to headline the main stage.

And as good as he was at Big Chill, too large a part of the crowd didn't have a clue who they were watching.

Radiohead fans (myself included) would generally go for more thoughtful, 'interesting' music I would imagine, hence why they would not understand artists like La Roux.

However other people, like yourself apparently, go to see bands for a dance and to get involved and have a laugh which is good as well.

No right answer really, although I personally dont understand how people are not moved by Radiohead's music.

Also I dont think you have to dance and shout to enjoy a live act. Radiohead was a great way to end Reading this year, although they did play a more hits-orientated set than they did at Leeds so maybe the crowd was more responsive down saaf

About Bob Dylan being on efestivals rumours page - I think I'm probably being ignorant, but does anyone else think he is absolutley murdering his old songs by planning them in the manner he now does?

Cant decide if i'd like to see him headline or not. I'd probably rather it than Muse, Kasabian, Kanye West, U2 and Madonna as people have suggested in the thread.

They spoke to Emily Eavis this morning on 6Music news and asked her about the headliner list that the bookies are taking bets on, her reply was:

"We haven't booked anyone yet, but are talking to 4 bands about possibly headlining - a couple are on that list, and a couple aren't"

Read into that what you will.

I'd be very happy with those 3 headliners.

Bowie is currently top of my must see list.

The Stones would be great to see before they die...

Coldplay i'd be happy with. Seen them a million times already but they always float my boat. I dont have an issue with them like most people. Although they are probably the biggest band in the world at the moment so there must be a lot of people hiding in the closet when it comes to Coldplay.

The Cure would be my favorite replacement if any of these pull out/don't confirm.

Macca would be alright but there's something that doesn't sit well with him solo.

Muse can f**k right off... Overblown load of crap. But they are great live. Songs are shit though...

the stones headlining would be great from my point of view its taken me 10 years to get my mum and dad to glasto and they are one of my mum's fave bands . . bowie would be great i think but im far more excited about the foo's rumor ... omg headline act fri or sat night that would be amazing ..

i know there are loads of muso's that come on this site but really would the like's of madona or take that be that bad . im not into either but they would both make great acts on the pyramid stage headliners or not .. i carnt be the only one that thinks coldplay radiohead head lining would be a bit stale ?
