I think we all know what the Sunday and Monday GFS runs have in store :(

JackOne clearly knows his onions and has superior weather forecasting abilities to us lot, however we are now operating as some deviant hive-mind and together we can interpret a weather chart pretty well. If we get near the time and there's conflicting reports from ECM, GFS and Met Office then it could get pretty tricky.

JackOne, if you read this, I'm not saying you're not needed and appreciated. You provide the benchmark and we're just aiming to get close.

Latest ECM model is a dog. Big trough of low pressure over the SW on the Thursday bringing heavy showers. These little bleeders have a habit of sticking around. Still early days though. The forecast won't firm-up until much later in the week.

My guts are all over the f**king show.

I have 2 days left at work until I finish for Glasto, but found out today that I have a job interview for a promotion. The interview is TOMORROW. Oh joy.....

So I have to prepare for that as well as anticipate JACKONE's latest update. And somehow fit in Glasto prep AND the World Cup.

Too much to take in. Roll on 48 hours when I can chill out. Even though I won't know if I've got the job until I get back from Glasto.

What a crazy start to what could be a pretty crazy week. My guts just don't know what to do, so therefore I'm not trusting any feelings they may have.

Behave, guts.

The Sunday & Monday models are worse than Saturday's (as expected) but certainly not a complete disaster - clicky

Sunday 00Hz - High Pressure over the UK this weekend, slowly edges westwards with only, a ridge of HP over western areas on Wednesday. This comes and goes until the Saturday, with generally dry conditions, but turning a little bit more unsettled on the Sunday, with perhaps some rain from the north.

Sunday 06Hz - High Pressure over the UK this weekend, edges westwards, with low pressure edging across the UK by the Wednesday, with a rather unsettled festival looking most likely, perhaps dry to start, with some rain (heavy at times) over the weekend.

Sunday 12Hz - High Pressure over the UK this weekend diminishes as we move towards the festival, but ridges of HP from both the south West and North East conspire to try to keep the weather mostly settled, perhaps a risk of some rain from the SE on the Sunday.

Sunday 18Hz - High Pressure over the UK this weekend diminishes as we move towards the festival, but with Pressure tending to stay higher over western parts. However towards the weekend, perhaps low pressure edging in from the North East, with the increased chance of some rain over the weekend.

Not such good runs on Sunday, with the High Pressure looknig less dominant however still with the likelihood of a dry start to the festival, perhaps turning wet or showery over the weekend. On this basis a 45% chance of a wet festival.

Monday 00Hz - High Pressure over the UK this weekend, slowly edges westwards with winds turning round to a northerly for the start of the festival. Low Pressure to the North East, will give some rain to eastern areas, but staying drier in the west, with a probable mix of sunshine and showers, Signs also of High pressure building to the south for the weekend as well.

Monday 06Hz - High Pressure this week, but this doesn't tend to last over the UK this weekend, with already signs of this edging away, this trend continues with westerly winds for Wednesday. this likely to give some showers. Friday tuning wet as fronts edge own from the north, and then turning unsettled from the west with another front pushing in on Sunday.

Monday 12Hz - The high pressure tending to last better on this run, and lasting until the Wednesday of the festival, so a settled start on the Wednesday. Thereafter HP then edging North Eastwards, with a cold North Easterly flow setting in for the duration of the festival. However Glastonbury possible escaping the worst of the rain and showers.

The reminder of Monday's GFS to follow, with a first look at the ECM model as this comes into range.

If it makes you feel any better, I got the raging shits at Glasto last year from Friday until the Tuesday when I got back. Then my fellow Glastonaut got ill on the Tuesday and missed a full week of work, ended up shitting blood and at the resultant GP visit, with his arsehole in tatters, got ring-fingered by Dr Fatknuckles! Oh how I laughed.

Back to the weather for a moment, that JACKONE summary don't look half bad, but does the 40% chance mean a 40% chance of some rain (i.e. a 60% chance of completely dry for 5 days)? Or is it some form of meteorology term that means something else?

So in summary... should I take my flip flops?! I wish I was more technically-minded...

No matter what the forecast, no matter what the weather when you set out, take flip flops and take wellies.

To do otherwise really f**ks Apollo off. And would therefore f**k me off. And countless other sun-lovers.

Prepare for every eventuality.

Surely Lord Eavis must be watching this thread, it must be the most detailed rollercoaster of Glasto weather prediction on the web every year. Or maybe it'll just be "the best ever" whatever the weather! B)

    • wombats have been doing that and selling quite well, couple of really strong support acts could make it work.
    • Yes. September still a very long away, keep the faith.
    • With Di Artze doing Nova Rock next year, if Foos are there too I think that puts pay to SOAD. I would think they would get SOAD if they could rather than Di Arte again 3 years later.
