What will you do if you don't get Glasto 2010 tickets

I got my 2009 tickets fully 2 weeks after they went on sale, maybe different this year with it being 40th anno and all, however World Cup, exam clashes and recession biting even harder there may be less of a demand.

Otherwise it will be between either Beautiful Days or the Bulldog Bash

I should be saving the money for my gap year travelling Europe next year really.. but I'll probably end up going to Shambala and maybe a festival like Reading and Benicassim again instead. That can kind of count towards my gap year, right?

Having spent last night setting up my newly acquired trailer tent in anticipation of G2010 the thought crossed our minds 'what will we do if we don't manage to get tickets for G2010?'

It's a scenario almost too awful to contemplate but just in case it's a phone lines jammed booking day and we fail we wondered what alternatives there will be in June next year.

We'll know by October (or whenever deposit day is) so we'll have plenty of time to look for consolation. But has anyone any suggestions for a June alternative embodying the spirit of Glasto - preferably south of Birmingham as we don't want to travel an enormous distance from home (near Cardiff) towing a trailer tent.

Hi pete,

I'm trying not to contemplate that scenario, I think you should get some preference booking if like you have been loyally doing the festival year in year out

Perhaps after 5 consecutive glasto's you get a 'bye' and can book half hour before the crowd

Dare I say it that plan smacks of the VIP ticket schemes some bands have come up with - were money talks I'm against all that as generally the VIP tickets go to people who are there to be seen and not to see the bands.

There are a few smallish festivals - green man in August, cornbury, wychwood in cheltenham

Theres always 'glastonbudget' if you want to pretend- the tribute band show in the midlands end of may!

It is a scenario too awful to contemplate Andrew. I also fear that my third festival of the Summer (Cambridge Rock in August) may not happen next year so I am thinking of possible alternatives as a backstop. But I'll worry about that after October 4th.

already going to another festival in june - rockness. so although i'll be gutted if i don't get a ticket, i'll just watch it on the telly with a wee drink like i do every year.

what is it usually like getting tickets for glasto? does it sell out within minutes? hours?

after wanting to go to glastonbury for years but never having anyone to go with, finally i am actually going to try and get tickets for next year. :P i'm really glad they're offering the chance to pay a deposit because of it wasn't for that, i don't think i'd be able to afford it.
