apart from being one of the most dissapointing live bands ive ever seen, Ive been reading on the main forums that there was a big crush near some of the burger vans to the left of the stage and several people got pretty badly hurt. A lot of people climbed the fence to get out of the crush and several people had to climb into the burger vans according to the storys.

I dunno about the left but I was near the front on the right hand side and it was intense. A huge surge pushed everybody right and it was the first time ive ever heard full grown men screaming in a crowd because they couldnt breath.

As for the band I thought they were a complete waste of time. Just Keith and Maxin shouting the same saying (were the f**k are ya leeds) over and over again whislt the dj played samples of THEIR voices.

I agree, f*cking awful. "Reading People" and "Reading Warriors" seemed to be all Maxim was using his Mic to shout, and Keith was seemingly more interested in pissing about with the camera than getting the song done.

Funny thing is that was exactly what my mate had told me of their IOW show earlier this year, just thought all the hype might be justified. It wasn't. I won't be in a hurry to see them again, but I daresay this page willl be flooded with rave reviews come Monday.

I enjoyed them.

However, I wasn't too close to the front and I had enough room to enjoy them rather than fight for my life. A mate of mine passed out, and I'd heard that people were having panic attacks. I'd even heard that someone had died.

I thought they were good at Leeds but it took a leap of faith to enjoy them as the crowd was just full of chavs without any care to the people around them but I should have guessed that with Courteeners Ian Brown and Arctic Monkeys playing.

It was like being at an Oasis gig.

We were near the frontish (apart 30 rows back) at Reading. Before they came on stage the atmosphere was electric. However, once it started, it became apparent we were all too squashed up. Now, I have two big mates, and they battled a path out (it took us about 2 songs to get to safety) however a lot of smaller people were getting chewed up. I saw 3 people pass out and if various people were not keeping a keen eye, there could well of been a very serious injury.

It wasn't enjoyable at all. Then when we were battling our way out, we had some smart arse who wouldn't move (when we had 3 girls behind us getting pretty anxious as well) and said 'what do you expect for up near the front of prodigy' with a big grin on his face and wouldn't move. My mate lost it and just smashed through him in the end. Ok, maybe we were not ready for that, but it did seem more dangerous than they surely usually are. You could tell there was some concern from the band when they went off for about 2 minutes so the crowd could calm down.

Watched the rest of the set from a decent way back with dancing room. Very enjoyable. However, up at the front was havok.

I avoided being close to the front because I knew I'd have just been drained. I'm not one of these people who's too scared to go any further than the mixing desk - I was close to the front for EODM, Ian Brown and Kaiser Chiefs - but there's good atmosphere near the front of the crowd at gigs and then there's just plain ridiculous.

they were the band i enjoyed the least over the weekend which dissapointed me because after seein them at download 06 i was buzzing to watch them again. thought the sound quality was shit as well.

i dont really understand why people try to get to the front for bands like the prodigy and complain that they get crushed.

They were one of my favorites of the weekend. I didn't really notice too much on the sound quality front, I was 5-10 rows from the front on the left hand side. everyone seemed to be loving it though, it was good to finally see the prodigy at a festival :)

I managed to get myself caught up in the big crush on the left hand side after they finished though and It got pretty ridiculous at points. Don't really know why it happened? Seemed like loads of people left after the prodigy, apparently they pulled a bigger crowd than the monkeys?

I think it was the biggest crowd I've ever seen at Leeds while I've been there and that's five times now. I enjoyed them but the sound quality was especially dire at the main stage on the friday at leeds.

i was at leeds and started off in the front, sort of centre left, and as soon as the first song kicked in, me and my friends realised that we were going to get seriously crushed so tried to leave. ended up taking 3 songs to get out it was that packed ! someone just randomly pointed out i was bleeding.

Quite amused by a man coming out behind me saying "all i wanted was a dance and a drink, and i just got a headbutt for it all"

seemed pretty crap to me...just too many people!!

Yup, I was at Leeds..

Much busier than RATM, Metallica last year and any other time I've been previously..

I was stood by in front of the secondary barrier and ended up helping people over the barrier and trying to help the stewards who were few in numbers. I'm 6ft 8 so could see what was happening, but to those who couldn't, it must have been an umconfortable experience. However, when the area between the secondary barrier was congested so no-one could move, it was crazy.

1. Kids as old as 6/7 were being pulled out, crying during the first song. FFS! Whoever was their parents should get their head checked to take them in there..

2. The Leeds site encourages a large number of people to enter the front area from the left side. This was controlled on Sunday night but needs addressing for next year.

3. They need more information sent out to the security teams. When Them Crooked Vultures were on next I had to tell the supervisor on the barrier who was playing and what to expect. Suddenly reinforcements were brought in.. though I understand why they needed to keep this a secret..

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
