Who Will Play Glast?

Amazing...Glast's past performers

THE ultimate festival line-up is one of the most popular pub debates at this time of year.

Who would you have on the bill?

DAVID BOWIE, THE SMITHS, THE STONE ROSES, OASIS and THE WHO perhaps?

Well, if Glastonbury bosses get their way, next year a roll-call of all-time rock icons is on the cards.

Organisers EMILY and MICHAEL EAVIS want to celebrate the Worthy Farm event's 40th anniversary with a bill exclusively made up of the legendary acts that have played there over the last four decades.

That has the potential to be the greatest festival of all time.

THE KILLERS, RADIOHEAD, ARCTIC MONKEYS, NEW ORDER, VAN MORRISON, BOB DYLAN and many, many more have all trudged down to Somerset at the end of June over the past 40 years.

A source said: "Michael and Emily want to make next year's festival the most memorable ever.

"They've got a number of ideas up their sleeves, but one they are already working on is getting past performers to play at the next bash.

"They've sent out feelers and have got a lot of positive feedback so far.

"And if they manage to pull their plan off, then, without a shadow of a doubt, they will have one of the greatest musical bills ever put together in history."

Sales for the event have been sluggish over recent years.

But this would spark an immediate sell-out if they triumph in their bid to get the bill together.

The only potential problem is - who will be the headliners?

I certainly wouldn't want to be the man to explain to PAUL McCARTNEY why he was only third on the bill.

My source added: "There's a huge buzz about next year already. Everyone is determined it will be a once-in-a-lifetime line-up.

"And if Michael and Emily secure only half the names they've approached it will be a truly extraordinary event."

Just leave JAY-Z off it, chaps...

If ME and EE can get the stone roses back together to play next year, they deserve a medal, especially considering squire's recent quotes!

In this case there isn't anything to be believed or otherwise.

All he's done is list previous artists and said they may or may not play.

Anyone here could have done that, based on Emily's "band from every year quote" which was months ago.

The Sun will be paying him a pretty penny for this stuff.

Look there is no way that Glastonbury are going to manage a band for every year, or have Radiohead playing the fluffy rock cafe or any of this rubbish. Look at 2000, that would have been the 30th anniversary and the first of the new millenium, yet apart from Bowie it is a usual lineup.

Glastonbury try to book the best acts available every year, the 40th anniversary might attract a few big names, but I doubt that it will be 'the best lineup ever' or anything like that.

What did he say? That Chris Moyles was funny or talented?

nah, he said the opposite. Which ampersand took great offence to, cos Moyles is apparently the world's best comedian. :D:P ...... I wonder if Moyle's girlfriend was laughing yesterday when he implied on air that she couldn't be anything but a moose? For the first time ever, I laughed at Moyles (laughed at him, not with him).

    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
