Toilets

First time at Glastonbury, had an amazing time - will definitely be back.

But the toilets are horrid, the worst I have seen at any festival I have been to. I don't know if its because of the sheer numbers that its difficult to get them cleaned but surely they need to do something.

And the long drops are rancid.

Never had a problem once! Only mess I ever witnessed was toilet paper on the seats to dry them up.

Have heard some tales from other folks but all in all was a very clean loo fest.

The trick is knowing/guessing which havent been abused...usually the ones furthest away from where people are arriving from!

We were up in E16 campervan field - there were no toilets or water in that field - we had to walk to the next field to the nearest water / loos and I got talking to someone in the queue there who said there were no facilities in their field either, so at least three fields were using the same limited provisions. Needless to say, they became unusable very quickly and for long periods of time. However, I found inside the fence to be absolutely fine.

In previous years, the facilities in the campervan fields have always been excellent.

I spoke to a steward who speculated that maybe they thought as they were campervan fields everyone would have their own facilities on-board anyway, but even if every unit did you'd still need to empty your loo and grey water tank somewhere and top up the fresh water... :D

You dont get given toilet paper...what do you think this festival is? V?:D

You carry your own paper around with you roll or Handy Andie form...rule number 1!

Was pleasantly surprised to find some bog roll in the Park loos on MONDAY morning though!

i only found one or two unusable ones all weekend.

Simply went next door and it was ok, even in the camper fields.

All in all not bad considering how many people are catered for, and cleaning those things i sthhe one job at the whole festival i wouldnt do.

BIG RESPECT to the toilet cleaners !!!!!

but to the hoverers that crap and miss the hole ........next year you should have to be cleaners you filthy muppets !

Didn't have many problems at all, neither did my girlfriend.

Far better than what you get at TITP, Leeds or V Staffs.

They smelt a bit in the heat and often didn't have loo roll but take some Vicks and some nice wet wipes, no problem

I've always hated the portaloos - too many get full to brimming and the smell can be overwhelming - but I have always found the longdrops to be Ok.

The only mess I find is from the people who are scared - it's the hoverers that make the most mess!

The smell from the loos is generally much worse when it's hot but I have always found the loos at Glastonbury better than at V for example.

Best toilets on site tho - special mention must go to the she pees - an absolute delight! Clean, convenient, toilet roll. mirrors, alcohol rub - festival perfection! Can we have more of these next year please?

the toilets near the gate in Paines field were great most of the time.

The long drops are the long drops and you take them for what they are and get used to them. Not a problem. i got caught a couple of times and had to used them for a 2 and coped.

I was amazed tht on the Sunday during Madness I had to go to a Pyramid stage portaloo and found hand santizer and toilet roll in it with a very clean seat. You just can't expect anything better with so many people.

So toilets = great this year

I found most of the longdrops were decent this year, though obviously the ones closest to stages were always the stinkiest/dirtiest. The best I have found are alongside the road from Wicket field towards the Dance field and pyramid. Always clean, barely no smell at all. The worst was on Sunday, to the left of the Pyramid...there were huge queues and the one I went into, somebody had had diarrhea...and HOVERED!!! Filthy. Makes me balk even typing about it.

I carry round a mini olbas inhaler to smell in the smellier longdrops...and always always use wetwipes, rather than ordinary toilet tissue...

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
