Just wondered why they never mention glastonbury anymore? they used to over hype it a few years ago.

Since they stopped going on and on about it, it seems to be easier to get tickets, imagine if a few thousand tickets had gone on sale a couple of years ago, radio 1 would have been blerting about it, as it is I haven't heard a peep.....

So have GLF upset them?

Oh well of it stops plantpots like boring Chris Moyles being on site and makes it easier to get tickets I'm all up for them keeping quiet.

Well all of the coverage is still done by BBC, but I think BBC Three cover it more now though

Cos all they care about these days are their sad Corporate Radio 1 w*nkender in Swindon type events for kids.

They seem to be more interested in Reading and Leeds, only heard them mention Glastonbury once or twice over the last few months (Not that I listen all that much).

I was completely Bolloxed one night came came around to the dance stage, I cant remember who was on, but he was fantastic.

The BBC news web site seems to concentrate on a few festivals that have direct input/commercial interest from the BBC, whereas I suspect (and indeed hope) that Glastonbury does thing things on it's own terms. A cynic might suggest that the Beeb is showing it's impartiality. Not.

ive heard download getting plugged a few weeks back. more so than glastonbury anyway.

I know it's ages away, I was talking more about the ticket sales. They used to go on and on about creating a frenzy and by ticket day you struggled as the voice of the Cool people told them they all needed to go to Glasto to be even cooler. They could then say that they had " DONE GLASTONBURY " like they have som,e sort of checklist for life.

Reading and Download do big-scale announcements on a regular basis that build a lot of hype, whereas apart from the headliners, Glasto has this odd tendency to just announce random bands on the sly.

I could be wrong but I think Radio 2 have taken over the Glastonbury BBC radio coverage.

But it could be the case they might start going on about Glastonbury after the 'big weekend' when they've nothing else to talk about!
