butchwade
from the SSW website: …and they are real peaches. Behold! Quirk pop heroes Mystery Jets are playing just before The Streets on Friday, for a night of unpredictable fun. Ubiquitous Brooklyn hipsters Chairlift will also hit the Leicester stage, as will Broken Records, aka Glasgow’s answer to Arcade Fire (what? They really are that good), Port O’ Brien and their heart breakingly frayed strain of folk, and crunchy rock behemoths Future of the Left. You want new, emergent talent? Check out the wonky disco shapes of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool (the name alone warrants the price of admission), the pastoral folk pop of The Yellow Moon Band, and the delicate, achingly fragile warblings of Devon’s own John Smith. And you want cast-iron heroes? Then check out Horace Andy and Ashley Beedle and Hugh Cornwell (you may know him from a little band called The Stranglers) in rare live action. Seriously, it does not get much better than this people. Well, except for the next announcement, that is…hee! Until then
butchwade
Seriously excited about Horace Andy and Hugh Cornwell Also, saw Broken Records at Loopallu last year and they were pretty good
Paul ™
Pretty sure they are Edinburgh based though

SweepingTheNation
Wow, Future Of The Left is very pleasingly leftfield for SSW. They're a blazing live band with a very neat line in cutting banter - there's a live album available through 4AD's web shop for further investigation. JakeBoz
I've heard some of Ashley Beedles stuff before and I think I'll have to try out the before SS09! Nice to see Mystery Jets come back to play as they didn't last year!
rseamer
Is it just me, or is this years line up one of the best ever for SS ? Headliners all ok, but I'm most excited about artists further down the bill (and Bon Iver )
llcoolphil
I dont know many of the new announcements. But then I often don't know a lot of the line up and Im yet to be disappointed. So all good in the 'hood I would imagine

gregory
if DiS pull it out of the bag this does have the potential to be the best line-up yet (making up for some errors last year), and no thanks to The Charlatans and The (ubiquitous) Zutons. strong undercard though. look forward to seeing who headlines indoor. Unihammer
from the SSW website: the pastoral folk pop of The Yellow Moon Band, and the delicate, achingly fragile warblings of Devon’s own John Smith. Surprised YMB are playing what with Green Man being the following week. Still very pleased they are. Also glad to see John Smith on the bill. He would have been one of my suggestions, if I'd got round to making any. He's an excellent guitarist and songwriter, listen out for Axe Mountain, hopefully he'll play it. SweepingTheNation
Is there a mistake on the site line-up page or have a few bands already pulled out? Can't see the Joy Formidable, for one.
