PHRASED AND CONFUSED RETURN FOR SSW 09!

01 May

Over three days, the tent will be serving up a whole host of wordy delights – as songs, poems, readings, conversations and whatever else you want to call it, in their mission to showcase some of the finest songwriters and poets about. And this year they’ve got the cream of the crop, with sets by Woodpigeon, Jeremy Warmsley, Stuart Silver, Inua Ellams, Sound of Rum, Generation Txt, Joshua Idehen and Beth Jeans Houghton. More artists will be announced soon so keep checking back here for more details…

Oh, wait, the shortened one might be The Cheek, who used to be Cheeky Cheeky and the Nosebleeds (yeah, I know, but they've had support from Radio 1 and the monthly magazines)

What I do know is that SSW is listed on the Myspace of, erm, a stuttering Ray Stantz.

Folks, even I'm surprised at some of Tuesday's announcement!

We certainly haven't been lazy about it.....

(Of course when it all turns out to be the poetry - sorry, spoken word - stage, we'll probably have to go running down the street to escape the lynch mob)

(Not that there's anything wrong with spoken word of course. he adds hastily whilst contemplating a rhyme about holes, digging and stopping. In fact its all of that is shaping up rather nicely. Bring on the poets!)

(Think I just about got away with it there. )
