Arctic monkeys

Im thinking (and hoping!) that arctic monkeys will be second headliners under the now strongly rumoured radiohead. This would mean there would be a 3rd headliner which would be "alternative" to the 3 big indie acts that are rumoured. Personally i think kings of leon are a bigger draw than arctic monkeys at the moment. What do you guys think? Do people even like arctic monkeys anymore?!

Yes they do like them.

And radiohead arent indie. Just because they arent metal doesnt mean they are indie. Jesus christ.

People seem to think that because they havent heard arctic monkeys on radio1 recently, that no one likes them anymore. That the fact they havent released an album in 2 years doesnt seem to come into it, that their new album hasnt been released yet.

These 'people' didnt like arctic monkeys in the first place.

Again, I suspect thsi is the case of people underestimating the appeal of bands that they dont like. Bands that sell the amount of records that am do, sell out the venues that am with a recent headline glastonbutry slot do not second healine festivals like reading/leeds. Can you imagine the fee that a band like am would command. Festival republic wont pay that for someone second on the bill. Arctic monkeys will be a huge draw.

it'll be a huge shame if these are the three headliners,i doubt that any of these bands have the potential to end the weekend on a high like the sunday headliners of the last 4 or 5 years have done. on the subject of a 'heavier' sunday headliner,no one seems to have considered the possibility of kings of leon headlining the sunday.i know theyre not a 'metal' band, but theyve had lots of coverage in rock mags like kerrang and classic rock.as theyre not as indie as radiohead and AM,it would be easier to put a rock bill under them.

great set of headliners really to be honest. and when you have download, bloodstock, hellfest and sonisphere, where actually would you get a metal headliner from?

even if you had iron maiden or guns and roses, its not metal.

have they got a metal headliner no, have they got the bigggest british act and one of the biggest bands around yes, have they got the biggest band at the moment and the big pulling international band last year yes and have they got the band everyone or most people want for any festival to headline? thats yes to so any complaints is just that you dont like the bands really and if ya dont, well i'm sure you can find another festival like one that's supposed to actualyl be a metal one

I just cant see kol, am and rh headlining, theyre all too similar. They also normally have a "Legend" playing as well.
