Bradders
There was an interview with Thurston on 6music this morning saying they wanted to play Glastonbury. Can't see any reason Eavis would say no so I assume they'll play, great news

no1_foxymama
I would actually cry with joy...where would you put them though? The sheer effort they put into their musical out-put over the years whould indicate quite a low slot on the Other stage, but then their sound would make a great headliner for the Park maybe? Still, this would be excellent news
ralph250
I'd hope their not headliner. This year I wanna see all 3 pyramid headliners...so the possibility of bon iver, orbital and now sonic youth clashes would be horrible....let alone people talking about pavement headlining JP aswell. darrenbha
JP headline would make sense. It'd be absolutely rammed though

MieleBee
Perfect, but wait for the backlash from the "It's an oldies festival" brigade. They wont get this lot at all.

Bradders
Nah Sonic Youth seem quite popular with us youngsters at the moment. Mostly because of those T-shirts unfortunately, and maybe that Lee did a song with the Cribs, which was what made me finally get around to listening to them. Pulpfan
It was very sparse when the played V Stafford a few years back ! And despite being a huge fan , I have to say the were dire !
russycarps
Yeah there probably will be that but it will be from all the kids that bought sonic youth t.shirts from topshop and urban outfitters for £40 because they are fashionable (when they can get the exact same t.shirt from the official website for $20 ) I would love to see them again. I saw them at the fuji rock festival a couple of years ago on the main stage on the early evening slot.
Bradders
I found one in a vintage clothes shop in Leeds for a tenner. Then I saw one in Urban Outfitters and couldn't believe anyone would pay £40!

glimmers_of_hope
I love Sonic Youth - I hope they don't clash with a headliner, but to be honest they are a must see any way you cut it. I saw them at V previously and the crowd was sparse but I still thought thgey played really well.
Sparticus
i should learn to look harder in urban outfitters, would've bought one of these I've only got daydream nation by sonic youth, but fook me is that a good album, anyone got any recommendations about what to listen to after that? VCK
Metallica also said they wanted to play. Doesn't mean it will happen. But if they do...get in!
